Piece Process - Solar Myth (Markus Shulz Remix)
Discogs entry: http://www.discogs.com/release/266223
This track has always been unique for me because it sounds unpleasant. Its sort of harsh, and noisy at the same time, with synths that seem to be competing with one another rather than complementing each other. Yet its somehow compelling to me.
Invisible Inc - Stars
Discogs entry: http://www.discogs.com/release/256965
I remember for a while the only handle on this track was a short video clip featuring Sasha and Zabeila. You just got to hear 20 seconds or so of the intro, but it was just so smooth hinting of wonders yet to come.
The MFA - Motherload
Discogs entry: http://www.discogs.com/release/265365
Just love the rich deep bass. Really spare melody so the meat of the track is all about that bass. Can't help but be immersed everytime I hear this track
Coldplay - Speed of Sound (Steve Porter Mix)
Discogs entry: None
The perfect port from pop to trance. Trance doesn't have to stick to pop vocal and chorus conventions freeing the remixer to use them exactly as he sees fit.
Ronski Speed - I.C.
Discogs entry: http://www.discogs.com/release/431085
I'm a sucker for piano in a trance track. This track just uses a couple of notes, but it anchors the song while all the other synths weave themselves around those notes. Great mini build ups and releases keep the tension up throughout the entire track.
Schneider TM vs. kpt.michi.gan - The Light 3000
Released on a 7" Single by For Us Records
Squarepusher - Port Rhombus
Released as part of the U.S. Release of Big Loada as well as The Port Rhombus LP; both on Warp Records
Venetian Snares - Hajnal
Released as a single on Rossz Csillag Alatt Szletett on Planet Mu Records
Aphex Twin - 4
Released as part of The Richard D. James Album on Warp Records
Autechre - Lentic Catachresis
Released as a single on Cornfield again, on Warp Records
Deltron 3030 - Mastermind
Released as a part of Deltron 3030 on 75 Ark Records
Rakim - Guess Whos Back
Released as a single, Guess who's Back?, on White
Kamaya Painters - Northern Spirit
One of three typically high-rated trance singles on the Endless Wave Single
Digital Witchcraft - Fingerpaint
Released on the popular Brindavan single
Momu - Descolada
Released as its it's own single on the 3 Beats Breaks label
hopefuly some one els has heard of this track
Irmin Schmidt & Kumo - Las Plumas Del Bho
Irmin Schmidt is on the Piano
Kumo is on the Electronics
please don't over look this one
I know this is a question that will make me decidedly uncool in every way, but I'm curious to the response:
How do various elite of TA keep up with "exceptionally great" music? I'm willing to accept that it takes a huge investment of money and time, but what about the simple knowledge of where and what to look for?
Lonestar - Uno Di Ci
Great tripped out e-friendly track
Ivan - Red Star (Pads mix) (2000) -
One of Oliver Liebs finest tunes. A deep driving tech trance history from his less known Ivan guise. A very very underrated tune. Totally love it.
sample
Human Blue - Memorexis (2002)
The Swedish genius Human Blue showed in 2002 that he is not only capable of doing great goatrance but also excellent progtrance. Very hypnotic.
sample
TBR - Trancewave (1999)
Released on Drizzy Limited, this is one of my favourite melodic trancers. It never got any airplay in the UK though. And it took me ages to find it on 12".
sample
Illuminatus - Hope (Oliver Lieb remix) (1994)
An often forgotten gem from Oliver Liebs glorious 1994-era when he just pumped out one beauty after another. This is in the same style as his remix of Mory Kante - Mogo Djolo. The melodic break in the end here is beyond this world. This is pure trance.
sample
Chi-A.D. - Biocandy (1999)
A heavy goatrance number from Chi-A.D. released on Blue Moon Productions UK. Sadly this never made it to any of his albums.

hkan lidbo - capoiera (jeff bennett dub)
a nice chilled latinvibed techhouse cut
armand van helden - funk phenomena (edge factor dub)
schulz & mcspadden took armands big track and made it bigger, edge factor beefed it up (is that even possible) and added some nice 303:s
fatback boogaloo - wide open spaces (mothers pride mix)
this is mid90's uk epic house done from the qattara/skinnymalinky/steelfish camp. as to expect you get a lovely housey yet trancy cut with pianos well used
son kite - aiwana (dj nukem deep mix)
nukem strips down aiwana to the core and infuses his trademark darkish tribal vibe, sound horrible at normal speed tho, needs to be played atleast at +6
the shamen - ebeneezer goode (ritchie hawtin trance dub)
is it trancy as the title implyes?, well no. what's left of the original?, well some vocal samples. as to expect with richie y'got your acid, i think dinner is served
henrik b - inte bara b ep
a lovely 3track ep coming from henke with a good slab of that mid90's funkyhousevibe well infused into all of the tracks. nice titlenames also
everything but the girl - rollercoaster (king britt mix)
king britt delivers a nice broken remix of this reasonably unknown ebtg track. i think the original is from amplified hearts.
magnolia - it's all vain (meat katie vs. christian j dub)
a rather filthy breaks remix of this 2004 summertrack, i still wonder why m.o.s. didn't give it a vinyl release.
j axel - love letters (henrik b remix)
henrik b keeps it deep like the original but adds a slight uptempo feel, the vocals by jonathan axel & astrid suryanto is lovely.

Ramblin Man - Lemon Jelly
I like this song for various reasons, plucked acoustic guitars, nice and chill, nice drum breaks, and a vocal sample which defines me.
It's Over - The Beta Band
This is defintely a personal choice and have never heard anyone discuss the beta band, but they are personal favorites and the vocals on this track and the quiter acoustic guitar all topped off with a stand up bass.. works for me.
beautiful music in this thread

Datar - B (Tarrentella vs. Redanka NYSC remix)
Accorsi & Bassetti - Until the end
Dark Driver - Re-vision 2 (Mara's Empire of Filth remix)
Three tracks that somewhat (it's impossible to do it completely) capture the progressive sound I'm most attracted to.
Decepticons - Deep Underground (Jade's Journey Through The Underworld remix)
Also prog, small bit different from the three tracks mentioned above, but of such quality to me that I can't leave it unmentioned. Class.
Oliver Ho - Multiverse
Female - Serverlan A1
Female - Avon 2 (65D Mavericks remix)
Three tracks representing my favourite techno sound. Deep, dark, offbeat (not a necessity though), not too full-on (lovely to hear live but not for my spinning purposes), full of subtleties. Yum.
hi,
I really liked the Sasha -- INvolver Album
Damm good music.
