sorry guys i'm trying to post pics of my mr2, not sure how though?

Posted by KlePto on Sep-13-2005 04:35:

couldn't figure out how to post them, but if you click on the link it's pretty obvious what I'd choose. I had a Integra type R while I had the MR2 but decided to get rid of it. Chose to fix up the MR2 instead, and well that's what it turned into.

So which would u go for and why? Any owners recommend any of these cars?

Cheers guys

i'd take them all, gather them all together, start a festival entitled "japanese vehicle inferno" featuring many international djs, charging $50 per ticket and during peak hour for 20 minutes we torch all the cars while the music is off for 20 minutes, get the croud revved up and put all the proceeds to a decent fucking european car like a lamborghini or maserati

the above-mentioned japanese cars can be had for $10k.

a lamborghini or maserati (they gotta be new, or youll run into quality gremlins) will run you AT LEAST $150k and $85k, respectivly.

two different playing fields, my friend. learn more about cars before talking, please.

An S15 200sx would own every single one them. I see executives driving around in black one's all the time. In terms of the 1/4 mile and scrubbing cars off at traffic lights, nothing on that list would beat one. If you can afford an S15, then you might as well dish out a little more and get a R34 GT25-T(providing you can get them there). Have you ruled out Supra's too?

The MR2 GT would be my second pick, the only issue I have with it is that they're super small and they're damn old. Off the top of my head, the GT's production run ended in 93, and all the new MR2's look shit and arn't turbochared.

The Integra Type-R is quiet good(friend had one), but the suspension is super stiff, and there's alot of cabin noise that comes in from the engine bay. I don't really like the racing bucket seats in them either. Racing bucket seats are not something you would want to be using for work everyday.

R34 over a supra anyday.

But yeah out of those get the 200sx (if you can get the sr20det engine). That car would be major fun. Otherwise get the mr2 - 2 seater so you don't have to drive people around except for your chica.

Posted by VERTiG0 on Sep-13-2005 07:47:

Oh god here come the import wars.

R34 Skylines are not godly vehicles. They're not even "supercars" in the sense. They're just wonderful high powered Japanese sports coups that happen to perform gloriously. However, for sheer prowess, they cannot hold a candle to a Honda NSX, which I consider to be the car with the most soul ever. By the way, if you get a Skyline of any sort, get a GT-R. Don't bother with a GTS, GTS-t, GT25, GT-4, or any other concoction - go big or go home.

As for S15 200SXs/Silvias being 1/4 mile monsters - come on. They are meant for twisties, not drag racing. They're gorgeous cars with a lot of afermarket potential, yes, but they sure as hell don't do anything particularly well with that completely useless (in a performance sense) half-assed 6-spd gearbox of theirs.

When it comes to Supras: What does a 400bhp, 600bhp, 800bhp, and 1000bhp Supra have in common?

12 second timeslips. Bonus points to those of you who have the knowledge to explain my joke.

Posted by getfoul on Sep-13-2005 08:27:

Why would you suggest a power limited, handling limited integra Hype R over a track beast Mr2 turbo?

Toyota Mr2 Turbo - 93-95 = the best choice on the list.

its a pity that a lot of supra owners forget that traction is an important part of power tuning, likewise the rear suspension setup and rear tyre psi is important.

Obviously anything less than a skyline GTR is piss (GTS etc etc) my 300bhp 200SX easily outperforms a GTS-T running the same sort of mods.

here is my car

lol

Yay for high boost, low traction for the first three gears and horrid suspension + 3500 lbs.

nothing is more fun than RWD.

the latest modified magazine says the next fast/furious movie is set to have a '67 mustang with an RB engine in it

rofl i know about car prices myself, given that i own a suberu

just saying if you're going for a sports car, don't waste it on jap shit - get a professional car while you save some cash for other shit rather than blow it on a japanese pos

Rasta

what the fuck..is this even a question? MR2 all the way!! Every known ricer wannabe has an civic/integra. Sure the Type R is fun(ive owned one) but it comes nothing to the MR2. Not as common...FUN as hell to drive...RWD. What engine is it? *sigh* if you only had a hook to the supercharged ones.

Ive dealt with both honda and toyota engines
Toyota >> Honda
a LOT more reliable

i sold my integra for a celica..then my insurance dropped so now I have a supra twin turbo. You can do a lot of insane things to your MR2 as well that other ppl wont necessarily have
