Posted by JM on Dec-19-2001 23:37:

well, i kinda wasnt the biggest fan of any of the 3 tunes they came out with....i dont think it's tragedy if they split for the time being....now a real tradedy would be if something tragedic happened to some of our fav Dj's/producers, let's hope that wont happen ***(knocks on wood)***

I must agree... a very bad day for the trance scene!

I don't really what the big deal is...
Tiesto is still Tiesto, and Ferry is still Ferry, right? They'll still write good music?
You're crying about a group (label?) that only released 3 anthems?
Hm...

Posted by Linx_da_cat on Dec-20-2001 00:24:

Sad

i was sooo hoping this was not true.....dammit. argh, i'm still remaining optimistic and am gonna say that they are going to get back together under a different alias....i know they will...

What we're crying for are the 10-12 (?) anthems on the album that never were and will be created. But of course Ferry and Tijs will keep producing quality tracks Thank god!

Posted by integrity1 on Dec-20-2001 00:48:

boy im work all day and this is the news i come home to? damnit, this is horrible. i was dying for the gouryella album to come out just like all of us tas.

Posted by locutox on Dec-20-2001 01:33:

Damn that sucks!

Tenshi is one of my all time favourites (especially the shorter remix that was on Trancemaster with all the neat jingles and stuff).

Still it'll be interesting to see what the new tracks will sound like and it'll certainly create more controversy depending on how good the sounds are.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why is this happening????

shit man....this really sucks....

Posted by j_spot on Dec-20-2001 04:51:

you spoke to tiesto on Friday, I spoke to him on Saturday...I asked him when the next release from Gouryella was due out...he kinda got excited(@ least @ the time I thought it was excitement) I mean, I live in calgary, and trance is a rarity around here...he was 'excited' that I have all 3 gouryella releases. He never did answer when the next release was....

oh well...the three dutch trance boys(tiesto, ferry armin) ought to, and im sure somebody is thinking about them getting together for a project sometime...trance will be trance no matter who makes it.

Posted by Tranex02 on Dec-20-2001 05:05:

Well...i agree that it's not the end of the world....cuz we will still hear Great traxx from both DJ's.....
But one thing that bothered me was Tiesto's comment to Ferry...
If that is true.....i think that Tiesto is kinda snobby....
But....his music is still awsome!! and i'm sure that he is a very nice person in reality..
Anyway! Let's hope things work out for the best.

Posted by breakdown on Dec-20-2001 06:22:

ok sorry, but i think the article is a contradition in its own right..
- they can't break up if they aren't a permanent act... they just choose when to produce with each other and what not.. system f, minddrive, alibi, etc.. other aliases of them.. no need to come out with any press about "gouryella breaking up"...
- the fact that they have the brains to say "this doesn't mean they won't produce together in the future"....

hmmm to me... this is either just some random press hype.. or just a total load of crap.. i'm not saying a new gouryella is coming out.. but, an act like gouryella doesn't have the need or the state to say they are breaking up.. they've done 3 productions in 3 years.. so blah to that... =p

disagree? don't have a clue to what i just said? then ignore it =p

Idea

Posted by Excite on Dec-20-2001 06:37:

guys gouryella isn't a group so its not like we're not going to hear gouryella style music again in the future. ferry and tiesto are at the prime of their careers. we will continue to hear more awesome music from both of them. and there are so many great unknown artists out there. its not like tiesto and ferry aren't going to team up with other great producers to make other new projects . let the fame spread out a little people.

you know...
gouryella was thier best track and it didn't go downhill from there but nothing compared at least in my opinion.... maybe somethings are better to be just left... and not tinkered with if you get my point :P{

gouryella-gouryella better than tenshi? dunno, thats a hard one.

i personally think vimana-we came should have been their second track instead of walhalla.

Posted by fastmp3 on Dec-20-2001 07:21:

haha do u guys think gouryella can provide us something better than gouryella-walhalla-tenshi ? no i don't think so that's why it's not the end of the world

its all a matter of opinions. who would know? we may or may not hear a new gouryella track ever again.

Posted by justin on Dec-20-2001 08:30:

you know whats wierd though, I just bought System F -out of the blue, and DJ Tiesto- in my memory without even ever knowing that the two of them were Gouryella. I fell stupid now, if i would have known this before i would have just bought the Gouryella album. Well they propably have bigger and better plans for the future anyhow. Tenshi was pretty awesome though, i always wanted to get the album after i heard that but i never did.

Angry Gouryella splits up; It was always comming

Well I've just read the article about gouryella splitting up and yes i'm shocked but I could see it comming...

1)Nothing had been released by gouryella since tenshi which woz aaages ago now!

2) In a recent article with mixmag where Tiesto was talking about his new album he said "There's a couple of balearic tracks, some techno. It's great to show the world that I'm not just another Ferry Corsten."

3) His essential mix was waaaay to progressive :-(

4) It's quite obvious that tiesto is just following the progressive path that seems to be popular now. He seems to think that you have to play prog/techno as well to be respected and stay cool. That's why his essential mix was so progressive, cuz he wanted to show off to the world that he doesn't just play trance. He doesn't seem to realise that people want him to play trance! This is also why he made that crap tune with junkie XL and put it in his essential mix. This is just the kinda atitude that pisses me off about other DJs who think it's now cool to slag off epic/melodic trance. I would never expect to her it from Tiesto but he's obviously turned into the next Pete Tong :-( I'm sorry to break it to all you Tiesto huggers out there but he's an asshole

On something more positive who do you think will take the place for Tiesto and will they still be as good??

Posted by dj_cuba on Dec-20-2001 13:01:

Now we know why they kept on saying that they don't know if a gouryella album will be released, cuz they wern't going to

no offense.. but thats the biggest load of bullshit i read this year. the progressive path has neva been popular.. thus many of the hardcore clubbers wanting to stay clear of progressive (which i think is a shame cuz i love the stuff and always have).. tiesto neva really went prog.. he just had a bit more of a proggie influence in the stuff he was playing. for instance.. ive lost count how many times ive seen tijs this year, but ive only really out of the lot heard him play 2 hours of anything close to progressive and that was in a 4 hour set.

all in all what im trying to say is tiesto still plays trancy trance. well.. he does whenever ive seen him.. yes there is one or two more prog tunes in there but thats just the way the entire scene has moved forward.. maybe he plays it just for me. he has definatly not turned into a pete tong.. he will never be that commercial, and why is he an asshole?
