guess where i was before trance?? thats right, PUNK/ROCK/EMO. this until 2002. by 2003, i didnt give a shit about rock anymore. every band is the same. and they have these gay ass names that all sound the same too. same instruments in every bloody song. but recently, i have heard stuff i like. like chemical romance and the one band with the deer man in their video.

what do u do at a punk/rock concert. u stand there bopping your head, or your moshing, or talking. i used to do all that. i saw one guy get a bust nose from a mosh, very violent. but with trance, u go to the club, u get high(a lot of time), u wear nice clothes to the events, people tend to be more educated, etc.

Guano Apes, Propaghandi, Dead Kennedys and Pennywise are all you need.

This needed a revamping. What would you guys reccomend? I'm looking for the lost love child of these artists all rolled into one:

Cat Power
Tom Waits
Dead Kennedys
Patti Smith
Xiu Xiu

I'm wanting to make a cd of something abrasive, eclectic, extremely gritty, piercing yet uplifting. Something similar to Wait's "Hoist that Rag" for example yet with the desperation and DIY aesthetic of Cat Power and Xiu Xiu. And the fuckedupedness vocals of Waits and the Kennedys. Sorta similar to the Yeah Yeah Yeah's but more messy experimental and chaotic. Yet.. fun!

Spill the suggestions. Anything! Tunes, albums, artists. Thanks

Pavement or Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Actually anything on the Matador label will suffice.

Thanks Teapot. Any songs in particular?

As far as the topic goes, some Sevendust or Lagwagon would be nice too.
