AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! That has got to be the MOST annoying song ever! That and 666 - D.E.V.I.L. (666's worst song). Those two and Sandstorm are the ONLY "techno" songs they ever play in the clubs here... It's SOOOO hurting.

this is cheese.

Cheese is when they put a crappy vocal all over a class instrumental.
Also Sash.

This is why I hate it when people use the term "cheese trance" to define epic trance stuff. Everybody has their own what the term cheese means. I agree with the definitions most of the people in this thread gave.

For me - it definitely has a negative connotation. It's like another word for "corny". The only time I would use the term cheesy with trance, is when someone is trying to create a mainstream novelty hit that just fails miserably. DJ Alligator is a great example. It's a song that is not trying to be good - it's trying to make money. 99% of the time, vocals are involved - and they're usually really really bad vocals. With these songs, even people that like them will usually admit that they are cheesy!!

When people call Ferry Corsten, Rank 1 or Armin Van Buuren cheesy, I have a problem with that. These are producers with a big fan base that seriously likes their music. It's unfair to say something is cheesy just because it's not progressive or because its not the music you like. Same goes for any other trance artist, epic, progressive, whatever.

Whenever I see threads where people are ripping on a type of trance (usually epic trance), calling it cheesy, I usually consider those people to be posers, who only like the music to be trendy. People who need to put down other people's tastes to justify their own... I'll never understand that

LOL!! speaking of Daddy DJ. I remember the first time I heard Daddy DJ - Daddy DJ I actually (gak) liked it (I admit it!!! and I don't care who knows now) But, from the first time I heard it, I knew I had to listen to this song in secrecy. None of my friends should ever know that I liked that tune LOL!!!

Therefore if you are embarassed by a tune and can't let your friends know, then you know that tune is cheesy!!!
