No, Rapper's Delight wasn't the first rap song. It was the first popular rap song. And most of you are forgetting the "important" part of the thread title.

What about Brian Peter George St John le Baptiste de la Salle (Brian Eno) or Edgar Froese of (Tangerine Dream)? I've never listened to Tangerine Dream or Eno, but i know they're pretty well-known. What do you guys/gals think?
