you might die. meaning that if you are alone it doesn't really matter to anyone else if you die. if you have a kid, it sort of matters to that kid if you are alive.

Everyone does drugs!

Posted by tatgirl on Sep-20-2005 14:04:

I saw a Kate Moss Revlon ad on TV last night. Guess she'll still make $ there.

quote:
Kate Moss is a fucking legend, and has upped her score in the UK by 10 points since this coke "fiasco", not to mention lovely publicity just in time for London Fashion Week.

That's cuz the Brits love this sorta stuff, and have countless articles telling u how to do your drugs better/ safer/ where to find the best deal, etc... In a society like that, its not too surprising.

Yes, Yes. I understand the priority scheme, but come on, I might die!? What the fuck is that all about?

The Pete Doherty can of worms is another thread on its own. lol

GO KATIE! you drug fiend.

Ps. She is ugly........and dont tell me shes hot

Posted by StereoPrincess on Sep-20-2005 14:12:

well does doing illegal drugs increase or decrease your chance of living?

simple risk ratios here.

reduce risk.

you can reduce risk by:
1. not doing drugs
2. doing them safely.

depends on the rest of the details of your life. how much of risk reduction you do.

a person is young, healthy, unattached, no kid, they are willing to do drugs safely and reduce the risk of dying that way.

a person has a job, a kid, and whatever else, not as willing to take such risk.

Ok, yes yes, I've already subsided to the super duper mathematical absolute truth that drugs might equal death. Fine.

But do I believe that a parent doing a line of charlie is say any dangerous than having a big night out drinking with friends. NON. Gauge it on responsibility, not fear of death. lol

I've got to admit, when I've got kids, they're going to Nana's for the weekend so mommy can have some adult time. Damn straight. I don't think I have to give up my grown-up fun when I have kids. I'll obviously be careful, but life's too short to not live it. And not do it around them, either (my sister chooses to smoke joints in front of her kids, but I won't be doing that myself!)

i don't think that's ok either. and it all depends on the kids age too.

that's why i'm getting in all my drinkin' now a days.

So, basically you're saying you're gonna follow in the footsteps of Kate Moss, minus the supermodel contracts?

I'm sure Kate has a regular stash that she dips into (I'd be freakin' skinny as a rail if I did rails all the time).

Hey, have a weekend, but keep it out of the recording studio where people can see you if you have a reputation to uphold (I played a safe game while I was at BPM I think). It's all about being careful about who you trust. And if I had the contract I'd give it up. Yep. Pay me millions and I'd stick to the booze.

Sure it's great if you do, but that doesn't mean you should be expected to do that. That's bullshit and unfair. They have every right to be just as un-perfect as you and I are and act in our daily lives.

Moss' contract with H+M, said to be worth almost US$2million, states the model's image must be "healthy, wholesome and sound."

A spokesperson for the company said: "H+M is strongly against drugs and for many years has actively supported the drug preventing organisation Mentor Foundation.

"After having evaluated the situation, H+M has decided that a campaign with Kate Moss is inconsistent with H+M's clear dissociation of drugs."

Granted, it sucks that she got caught in a recording studio, which is private property, but keep it in the bathroom, so no one will catch you.

I would definitely agree with you there... that if it's a term of your contract, you dont have a right to violate it!!

But I got to thinking, what if I as an loan officer or president of a company or as a lowly McDonald's employee, whut if it was stipulated in my employment contract that I was NOT ABLE to ever do illegal drugs.

Can they fairly ask that of me (assuming of course my recreational drugs habits on the weekend do not impact on my performance while at work during the week).... I'm interested to see what ppl feel about say doing drugs in such a case.

Many companies have random drug testing policies.... airline pilots, truck drivers and other trades have them in place so they can terminate you justly if you're a drug user. Fair enough if you are operating heavy machinery or have lives in your care. I don't think wall street is gonna care if joe blow trader had a party on the weekend, but you have to check the fine print of your hiring contract to make sure you can't be fired for partying!

to translate into the TRUTH:

"After receiving more negative publicity, email and phone calls in the history of our company over the last day, we have decided to reverse our previous and self-serving position of not dumping her because the fallout would prove to be even worse than having to use a lesser name to promote our brand".

they can keep there bullshit moral explanation...if that's TRULY their position, they'd have suspended/dumped her as soon as the story was confirmed, not a day later after realizing how hypocritical they appeared.
