I agree with some of the people talking about PvD, he is NOT as good as he used to be, producing or DJing. I don't understand why he has to use his own beats in between tracks, what ever happened to beatmixing? I know he can beatmix, i've heard his sets, some are better than others (all DJs have their good days, bad days) but his productions nowadays are disapointing. The only tracks I liked on his last album were "Connected" and "Nothing But You" (even though that one was WAY overplayed). It just seems like DJs/Producers hit their prime and then they start to suck, kind of like Athletes and Actors and Bands/Singers. Some can keep it going, others just fade away.....

I would add: Stop relying on a computer-based setup and start transitioning tracks like you used to! When I started dj'ing I'd tried to emulate his mixes as a learning tool, now his mixes are the LAST ones I'd recommend bc they're so abrupt....i still love the guy..

well ya can beatmatch on traktor also, its quite harder on ableton apparently

traktor is a program on its own
however tracktor also own the program final scratch.
fs and the original traktor are two different programs.

and pvd doesn't use final scratch anymore, if he is using vinyl it's serato scratch live which he uses.

however my original question was regarding ableton and why he actually uses it. apparently all he uses it for is to beatmatch and as ableton automatically beatmatches for u I would be very disappointed if this is all he uses it for ... thus my question, lol!
