Let's also face the truth. Part of the reason you're not getting the crowds to your parties is, despite your enthusiastic posting on local internet forums, your promotion team isn't reaching enough or the right circles. I've been to many of your parties, and they have all consistently low numbers. Which is a shame because you do bring some nice talents and I hope you continue to do so. But to sacrifice quality so you can throw more parties so something I advocate against.

First off, who are you to say that "TA is not a free advertisment company"? Ok, if we can not start setting the rules as to what TA is then, from here on out, I am setting the rule that TA is not the place for you to be a DICK everytime that you want to stir up drama. How do you like them apples?!? Jonathan is a promoter... that is what he does is promote. If you do not like what he has to say how about trying to keep it to yourself for once. I'll have to agree with Mario here. TA isn't a forum for people to self-promote their stuff. If that were the case, our forum will be filled with a record release thread every day. While Surface hasn't directly broken any rules, I can say he's stretching the quality of the forum. The most annoying fact is Surface is not even part of the community. At least Liquified or maddhatter adds conversation. I can't remember one time Surface has posted in any of our threads.

Ok then regulate... If you notice I also agreed with Bobby when he felt there were becoming too many surface threads... My whole point for Mario, is there is other ways to handle the situation if the has a problem with it then to be a prick...

just look @ the past thread created lke 10 minutes ago. as for not posting nice things? i post all the time. id say me javi are the ones that keep this place alive to be honest. not to mention i contribute to the forum all around not only in here but in other citys and music discussion

Ok, here's my 2 cents on this topic. I'd rather see a good local dj play a 3-4 hour set than a headliner play a 1.5-2 hour set any day. I think most headliners are overratted anyway, I haven't been too impressed with the last few that have come to town. The only good thing about bringing a headliner (IMO) is that they will bring a crowd. Otherwise, I'd just assume see a local.

I can really appreciate what everyone has to say on this subject but one thing I want everyone to know, is that I am not a promoter per say. I am a DJ/Producer first who started to do shows to give something bigger back to the scene where I got my start. It has helped my career but thats not the main thing. I do these events to give something back to this town.

With regards to the Compound format, again... This is not the norm, we want to see our headliners play longer sets but the club wants ALL headliners, on by 12:00 - 12:15 at the latest. From a clubs point of view its better to have a full club by 12:30 to get people to the bar. There will be plenty of 3 hour sets.

Last, maybe I have been wrong about this. I post a lot under Surface and I should have my own screen name. Its not my intention to be known as just a promoter. So I am setting my account up later this weekend.
