checking out those samples now.. not really impressed, but i do like Once Again. could be a great trance track with the right remixers (morph, danjo & styles, etc.)

*edit* Travelling Light is very good too..

What makes me confused most about this album is though the tracks have the best sound quality around and have very nice intros and structures ,start to go wrong in some time later with some very commercial vocals and melodies and that's y i don't like markus so much

My opinion only ..Respect to markus

for some reason it was released as "markus schulz pres. elevation - clear blue" altho schulz hadn't really changed the tune at all from the elevation original, just added some minor things.

but i agree that it's a great tune though.

I really like this album alot. I like the versatility in the different styles. Breakbeat (You Wont See Me Cry, Red Eye To Miami), Chillout (Arial, Never Be The Same), Trancey (Sorrow Has No Home, Without You Near (Coldharbour mix). My Favorite right now is the Reprise mix of Without You Near. Beautiful piano, and I love the lyrics and vocal.

This album definelty surprised me, I expected an entire CD full of deep trance instrumentals. This is a very good artist album, showing Markus is not just a DJ, but a credible artist as well.

Can't wait to get the full CD in my hands.

Once Again rockz

OMG
Markus Schulz - Once Again
This will definitely be one of top vocals this year along with Air for Life.

Posted by Serene&Severe on Sep-26-2005 00:51:

I really enjoyed listening to these tracks :

Markus Schulz - Once Again

Markus Schulz - You wont see me cry 2005

Markus Schulz - First Time

These 3 tracks are really nice vocals. The rest of the vocal tunes I thought were too cheesy, because listening to the vocals that a 3 year old can understand isn't going to do it for me. Especially when there are no breaks, no blends no nothing.

5/10 overall.

Elevation= Michael Targanski & Markus Schulz

and largo is missing on this album

Despite the sometimes cheesy and disturbing vocals (that "my first time" thing sounds quite dodgy) the album is a gem of pure melodic lushness!!!"trance", "progressive", "transgressive" whatever.. this is a quality album that features fantastic electronic melodies and harmonies for any time of the day. Unfortunately it is true that these vocals can get quite annoying from time to time!Anyway, despite this drawback it is indeed a very beautifull melodic gem. I actually quite support ANY type of electronic music that has melodic lines that exceed 2-3 notes loops (quite hard to find them these days with all these trendy electro-clashy trash around!) and at the same time exceed a certain quality(again hard to find as well-todays trance-by-numbers starts to sound really disturbing). So yep, the album is generally quite good.

7/10
(please markus stick on the instrumentals next time...)

You won't see me cry 2005, finally. Now if they can only release the mixes of it too.

Elevation's breakthrough arrived when he submitted a project of his, then entitled Clear Blue Sky, to well-known DJ and producer, Markus Schulz. Schulz, having a keen ear for talent, quickly began work on the track with Elevation, who soon became Schulz's protg. After working together for a few short weeks, Schulz and Elevation produced the masterpiece of progressive-trance, Clear Blue. Released on Armada Music imprint Electronic Elements, Clear Blue has seen success worldwide with some of the biggest names in trance today. Now at only 17, Elevation has reached heights he never foresaw.

And who are you?

Posted by Phortastic on Sep-26-2005 12:44:

the airwave collab is by far the best tune. The CH mix of without u near is also nice as is "once again", "u won't see me cry 2005" and "sorrow has no name".

Clear blue is still good also ofcourse but the rest is pretty crap imo

Posted by BaRTeZ on Sep-26-2005 12:52:

Schulz must be glad that people like Airwave and G&D saved his album a bit, cuz the rest is quite shitty. It sounds cheap and unfinished, like he was in a rush to get it in stores.
Unbelievable how he manages to ruin the nice vocal tracks with cheapy & cheesy sounds.

He should stick to doing collabs & remixes only.

4/10

yes, thank you for proving my point to everyone that markus is not a part of elevation and that clear blue shouldn't be on the album.

I can't comment on the whole album but 'Without You Near' is the track of the year as far as I'm concerned

He made it together with Elevation. Its a collaboration, just like he did with Airwave and G&D, so whats your point

I'm wondering his point too

well it's not like markus did anything on the track, just added a few clicks and swooshses etc.
so it's not like it's markus' track in any way, but elevation's, but markus takes all the credit for something he did not do and that IMO is very fucking lame.
if you think that's cool, then you have some serious problems. most people that don't know seem to think that elevation is markus' alias which is definitely not the case.

Posted by RJT on Sep-26-2005 17:42:

Elevation = Mike, end of story...

There are plenty of Elevation tracks out there... many far better than "Clear Blue" (Though it's a solid tune), and in NO WAY should MS get credit for them...

Markus Schulz = NOT ELEVATION!

I tire of reading this debate once every couple of months...

elevation is some 20 year old kid from detroit...but yeah, clear blue < other elevation tracks...he has collaborated with markus, thats about all

18.

Michigan.

Nice kid, very humble...

"Blinding Truth" > Most other prog tracks I've heard recently... also, IMHO Elevations best production... ALL BY HIMSELF
