im all for necissary laws. But to force your view onto a religion or individual is completely ridiculous. Even worse when it's by law.

I think it was kinda wrong for them to do that. I don't agree with their views. But like you said, I do see the schools point. They ARE a Christian academy, and lesbianism is not part of Christianity. They stated that the family's of students attending have to meet the criteria, and they just didn't measure up here.
I think that's probably why the family is not trying to fight it.

Again, no-one is forcing lesbianism on the school, so where you are getting this from the situation is beyond me. Nowhere did I argue that point, and nowhere is it implied lesbianism is being promoted at the school by the daughter.
Just keep reaching buddy.

they are taking them to court because they expelled her for having lesbian parents. To me the court action implies that the school should just shut up and put up.

so to have THEIR (organized religion's) views forced upon others as FUEL FOR HATE AND CONDEMNATION is not ridiculous?????

as a former Catholic Alter Boy - I know far to well this rhetoric and the consequences it places people under or puts them through

Is it to distract attention from themselves that so many preachers rant and rave about abortion, birth control, masturbation and homosexuality, which Jesus NEVER mentioned, instead of attending to their own sins, about which Jesus preached CONSTANTLY ?
USA THE LAND OF THE FREE!!!!

#1. They did not go the legal route.
#2. Had they, it would have been in regards to the daughter's behaviour being independant from the parents, and that she is being unjustly punished for her parent's sexual orientation. How this is forcing Lesbianism upon the school, since the girl is not gay, is a very far reach by yourself.

again you are free to disagree with their fews and to disassociate yourself from people who disagree with you. Just as they should also be free to disagree with your views and disassociate themselves from you.
By forcing them to accept your beliefs you are doing to them exactly what you are accusing them of doing to you.

im not saying they are. This isnt about what i believe in. I dont think that the church's thinking is right. But im not going to say they dont have the right to think that way. This is why i dont go to church and why this girl shouldnt go to that school. To me religion is wrong on some many levels. But im never going to say that other people shouldnt have the right to practice it.

that answer is a lot better......thank you Jay
and my point is people/groups twisting the bible ideologies to suit their own gainful purposes - and in this case with this non-Lesbian girl being expelled due to her Gay parents - she is being discriminated upon by the church itself - that morally should not be discrimating in the first place as per scripture.......
{ Matthew 23:1-14: }
"You would think these religious leaders and these Pharisees were Moses, the way they keep making up so many laws! . . . It may be all right to do what they say, but above anything else, don't follow their example. For they don't do what they tell you to do. They load you with impossible demands that they themselves don't even try to keep."
(This wouldn't have to do with things like birth-control, masturbation, abortion, clerical celibacy, perpetuating male dominance over women, would it? )
"Everything they do is done for show. . . They act holy by wearing on their arms little prayer boxes with Scripture verses inside, and by lengthening the memorial fringes of their robes. And how they love to sit at the head table at banquets and in the reserved pews in the synagogue! How they enjoy the deference paid them on the streets and to be called 'Teacher' and 'Master'! Don't ever let anyone call you that. For only God is your Teacher and all of you are on the same level, as brothers. And don't address anyone here on earth as 'Father,' for only God in heaven should be addressed like that. And don't be called 'Master,' for only one is your master, even the Messiah. . . Woe to you, Pharisees, and you other religious leaders. Hypocrites! For you won't let others enter the Kingdom of Heaven and won't go in yourselves."
PEOPLE HAVE TO STOP USING RELIGION AS AN EXCUSE FOR THEIR BEHAVIOUR TO SPREAD HATE AND CONDEMNATION! PERIOD!

the christian religion is an interpretation of a book. There are hundreds of different interpretations of the same scriptures which is why there are so many different branches of christianity. So where as you may infer one thing from what you posted, others may infer other things.
And it's their right to do so.
i dont agree with them expelling this girl but thats why if it happened to me id go to another school.
