Why not... go to a liquor store before hand, buy a little bottle of something, and drinkt hat before you go in. Will save you quite a lot of money. I usually wind up buying 2 or 3 drinks and having a bottle of Bacardi or what have you.

I mean, you buy 10 drinks in a night and tip that much anyways right? Does she know that on your first or second?

Give her a tip a head of time, and she sees you do it a couple weeks in a row, and again, it's g2g. Plus your drinks will get hooked up.

Another method, once you're in with this bartender, is give her your CC a few weeks in, let her run the tab on it, and you'll find it's $40 instead of $100, and she knows she'll get more of a tip.

Bottom line, all they want is tips, all we want is tasty drinks. Show them their tip is guaranteed ($20 a person all night? They'll take that any night...), and you're set.

Cranberry juice?

And when you get shots they are double shots right? I had a shot of tequila once at Crobar but kinda forget how big the shot glass was. Was $9 though.

No. That's for a single shot. Avalon has big shots in mixed drink glasses, Crobar does not. They use the little plastic shot glasses.

Wow. Can't believe I paid $9 for a single shot. So, when you get the mixed drinks they are single shot too?

They're usually mixed a bit stronger. I usually go to the same person week to week, so he might hook me up a bit better because I'm a repeat customer. Avalon definitely has the strongest drinks of the 3 megaclubs that I go to (Crobar, Spirit, Avalon). Too bad they don't use real Red Bull, though, .

I can't believe it costs $7!!! what a rip! I thought $3 was a rip out this way. definitely need to rehydrate at the end of the night!

that's what I'm doing...bringing the infamous plastic red cups on the train ride=vodka tonics for the ride!

just pre-game
you will save a whole lot of money

Posted by jdat on Sep-27-2005 02:38:

if you're concerned about saving pennies you're better off by pre-gaming before hand.

Because by any means just for starters you'll spend a minimum of 50 60$ on drinks at Crobar and that's just a warmup.

Just carry in a flask. I don't remember ever being pat down at that place...

Don't complain if you get caught though...

Not advisable. While I haven't been patted down every time I've been there, I have been patted down quite a few times. It all depends. Once, they looked all through my cigarettes, the next time, I walked in without a word. My girlfriend's purse has been searched quite a few times, too.

I remember paying $9 for vodka tonics

I tried to sneak in a flask for PvD in April. I got padded, he found it, poured it out, gave the flask back to me.

That's not bad, considering it only takes a few to get drunk.

Sounds like a good risk reward situation to me. The most you're losing is maybe $10 in when they pour it out - the most you could gain is hundreds in savings...

Just tape the flask to your croch region. They never check there.
