im joining the anti tiesto alliance, where do i sign?????

quote:
and yes, it is GOOD for trance for it to be more accessible, however i think it would be better for the 'education' of people listening to have the shows format what is once was.. with interviews, and future favourites, and tune of the weeks, and talking and stuff in first hour and a non stop mix in the 2nd.

ahh well

ahhhh those were the days when it was on ID&T, and im with cooray on that one, i reckon mr money mags (tiesto) had something to do with id&t pulling the pin

Armin and the other first-tier internationals get tunes that are much more 'upfront' (in terms of distance, in days:hours:minutes:seconds, from final render out of the producer/remixer's studio) than the locals get. Sure, some locals are more plugged in to some international producers than others, but come on.

Locals should do local stuff on the radio, for sure they should, but like it or lump it, there *is* a heirarchy, there *is* a power structure, there *is* a top of the pile (regardless of who's there and how they got there), and hearing our radios blast out direct from the top of the pile what the latest is cannot possibly be undesirable for anyone with an interest in the 'scene' other than those who seek to avoid having light cast on exactly how 'upfront' they are and aren't for a given label/genre/artist/whatever.

Should the Fermin Van Tiestenflds be tastemakers, and should we use their playlists like grocery lists for our record shopping? Separate discussion entirely. But come on - we should be listening to what those top-tier internationals think constitutes a commercially viable (within fans of the genre) radio program, for reasons that are self-evident.

hahaha, it's funny how I got shot down for that statement...

Dr P yes finally back online...

now, to clear it all up....I reckon it would be great to have a couple locals dishing out some of 'their' new stuff also, in a nice formatted show showcasing their latest tunes along with a lot of the stuff that will be played here, their faves, new bombs etc....

I do agree that Armin is great asot is good etc, but when there's an opportunity to let something local grow...why not try it first? I guess both can obviously happen at the same time? but what happens to another trance jock's liveshow on Kiss if/when it happens?? I'm just a sucker for keeping it real locally....that's all.

any comments always welcome.

ah yes i also remember the good old days of insert here, it was so much better then!!
and yeah didnt you know already? tiesto is the puppet master behind the entire dutch music scene, he rules id&t from the shadows, of course he pulled the pin on asot, its common knowledge!
