Well, the line up for Ravemontreal 17th is coming out tomorrow night. I think it's pretty solid. Maybe I'll see you there ;-)

re:

I don't want to be accused of making promo in a thread!

;-)

It's Friday november 11th, I have 2 excellent headliners + me, and it will be a very solid musical line-up. And the vibe is very good as usual.

I will put an official post on TA probably tommorrow night.

amazon (says november release) time to check out european online stores (always cheaper and everything early)

...

I bought a new Dave Seaman cd (released in europe; september 26th. gets released in north america in november), plus if u buy direct from the distributer it saves u money. shit it saved me a month and like $20.

...

Desyn Masiello - Balance 008 (release 24/10) cost $26.66 CDN (todays exchange rate with the british pound, still w/o shipping). Price is from Amato

dude trust me it's awesome, try to check the samples before buying just in case you might not like it ... most people who took the time to listen to it really appreciated it

"Steve Lawler is a man on the move. The king of Space, the lord of the (dark) drums, this Birmingham-born, Ibiza-based DJ and producer has had an incredible summer, launching the successful new night Thursdays At Space (alongside long-time friend Sasha), getting in with the Hollywood set through his haunting remix of 'The Conjure' from the film The Skeleton Key, producing a massive old-skool Ibiza tune that has taken the crowds fondly back to 1992 with That Sound and now, to top it all, presenting another stunning double CD whammy to add to his Lights Out series on Global Underground.

'I've spent four months on this. If I'm going to put a product on the shelves I want to spend a lot of time on it. People have sent me unreleased mixes or have given me tracks that are not out until next year, so I tried to create a CD that is full of tracks and mixes that other people aren't playing. It's very difficult to be fresh without choosing obvious records but I think I've done that. I made this for the dancefloor.' - Steve Lawler

Themed around his distinct dark and dirty twisted house sound, Lights Out (2002) and Lights Out 2 (2003) are amongst the most popular mix compilations in the world. Lawler will support this new release with special Lights Out 3 DJ sets across North America this year, and as an added bonus, special limited edition versions of Lights Out 3 will feature a third bonus disc featuring the best ever tracks from Steve Lawlers own record labels: Harlem Records, Harlem Trax and Harlem Electric. In addition to DJing, producing and remixing, Lawler also runs and A&Rs his own record labels. As a result, his imprint is responsible for signing the finest underground tracks from across the world.

In addition to tracks and remixes from Lawler's label, the album features several of his own edits and remixes, with his aforementioned remix of 'The Conjure' being included alongside the usual Light Out intros which feature on both discs. With additional exclusive edits from such names as Ricky Ryan and unsigned tracks from Swain & Snell and Ben Wigan, not to mention material from the likes of King Unique, Suicide Sports Club, Pete Gooding and Trentemoller, the album covers everything from the afterhours sets to the tougher more driving house sets that Lawler has become well reknowned for.

'If I had to compare the albums, 'Lights Out 1' was very dark, 'Lights Out 2' was funky and chunky and 'Lights Out 3', unlike some DJ compilations out there are, features songs that I really love right now. Basically it's very representive of what I'm playing right now.' - Steve Lawler

A sound to have us, as much as him, on the move, in other words. Fresh sounds and new ideas born of steely determination and heartfelt creativity. This is the sound of Steve Lawler in 2005 the lights are out, the dark drums are on." (Courtesy of Progressive-Sounds.com)
