my weapon could easily be recognised as a flaw too. My records tend to be too recogisable. Like probspot annoyingly recognisably, and probably with a similar sound to him even.

Our signature is to try to avoid to do what everyone else do... in the search of our sounds.

Combining breaks with trance.

And percussions in general, I guess.

My secret weapon? I'm not really sure. I just muck around with things and whatever sounds good to me, I use. I'm into the symphonic electronica stuff, so I guess my perfect pitch and theoretical/musical background (I played the organ for a decade plus 5 years of concert band , 2 music composition classes and a course in computer music) come in handy. I've been told my pianos are really good, too.

Oh, and timpani. LOTS OF TIMPANI.

My secret weapon is also like it's namesake. But for beats, if I use a sampler or reason's Dr.Rex then I find that using a short decay and a 95% sustain on the amp envelope creates a unique snap that sounds different to a compressor.

secret weapon? ... my knowledge?!

imho if you've enough knowledge you can get out of boring sounds/synths quality things. producing has a lot to do with experience...

I always liked my own Claps... Dunno why, but I spend much time EQ'ing them

I love making using reverbs.

Unfortunately I don't have a strong enough computer to endure the rooms and spaces and reflections i could create. It's lots of fun to re-create spaces or even just space for a sweet sound to ring/bounce around.

I'd prolly say I'm also quite good at mastering my tracks.
Whip out T-Racks 24 and Sound Forge and make em as lound and drivingly punchy as needed.
