I'll be getting ASOT 218 today, so if you need it, pm me and I can most likely get it to you in the near future

yaya, fun times!!!

i never listen to trance anymore, but armin always delivers a good time!! solid traks that just make the crowd go WILD

great seeing everyone, tons of old school peeps, georgia tech people i NEVER would have expected to see partying haha, and of course the solid TA crew repreSENTin!

but gzus, that shit was PACKED! i dont even think the 4 hours i was there, i even saw armin once, it was so hard to get onto the stage (not to mention it was a frickin sausage fest up there haha!), i just ended up dancing the whole night in the pit with the other crazy mofos down there lol

and from now on, you can just call me dwayne

Posted by gypsygirl on Oct-13-2005 21:25:

looks like you guys had an amazing time, lol, armin wore the same shirt on saturday in LA. yeah, ll50 looks packed! crazy, we had about 3800 at spundae. he definitely knows how to give everyone a great time. now you guys need to gear up for pvd, have a great one.

my sister had a great time but couldn't believe how packed it was either, she said she spent most of her time on a third level looking down. she's so funny, avb is like only the 3rd dj she has seen and she just loved him. she had no idea, she asked one of her friends is he as good as keioki? ha, ha, ha, she just doesn't know. she saw keioke out here and that was her first semi well known dj, but now she has seen one of the masters and can compare.

awesome job fellas on ID'ing the tracks!

Demoted Tune of the Week was sick today on ASOT! Glad you ppl got to hear it.

He pretty much played most of the tunes he dropped last night except he didn't play Burned with Desire... I would have preferred that tune over fuking 'Blue Man Group - I Feel Love' I still can't believe he dropped that gay ass tune!

Glad u guys had a good time I knew he would rock it! Ppl shouldn't have missed out

Posted by nchs09 on Oct-13-2005 21:39:

wow last night was amazing...everybody was going nuts! nice to finally meet some of the TA's...gavin and javi! hope to see you guys at pvd

Posted by phonk64 on Oct-14-2005 03:37:

So i'm finally getting around to posting my review.

First off all, Gavin. I messaged you and you didn't respond. WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU GUYS?!?!?!? I saw Jack and thats it!

Overall, Armin's set was banging the whole time. The last time i was that pumped up was Seb Fontaine at the mark a while back.

And Armin is the coolest dj in the world. I love how he interacts with the crowd and is so into his music. I think his enthusiasm spreads to the crowd he's performing for. Also, He isn't pretentious like some other dj's out there and carries around his own pen. I guess i'm not surprised. Armin is Dutch, and his attitude can be summed up with one word: gezellig (thats the Dutch word for the Dutch attitude towards everything, doesn't really have a translation).

EDIT:
My prize -> Autographed Copy of Shivers. Above his name it says "Thank you."

playing now on ASOT, tune of the week!!!!

Holy fucking shit. I just download ASOT 218. It's nicer hearing it in the comfort of my own home now that I got a taste of it at the club.

This tune completely owns me

I'll rip, upload, and give a link

Half his set was too fluffy/cheesy for me (this was expected), while the other half blew me away. I'm really surprised he dropped Playmo - that track is hot as hell and I thought it was way too techy/hard for Armin to drop but I suppose not!

Zocalo, Killa, Advanced, Summer Dream, Without you Near, Without you, Language, False Light, and Halcyon were also tracks that got me going, didn't care too much for the rest of them for the most part. I don't remember Tracking Treasure Down but since G&D produced it I'm sure that track was hot as well, I need to check it out sometime.

This is like the 5th trance party I've been to in ATL (I'm from charlotte, NC) and I still haven't met any TAs, nor have I met any from Miami and I go there often too - I need to stop slackin'...

I'll be seeing PVD in Miami on Nov. 4th, and if I have the money I'll also be seeing PVD in ATL that following wednesday night, hopefully for that show I'll finally meet some of you guys. I feel like I'm the only one around me that can ID the tracks when I'm in the club in ATL, but obviously I just need to get up with you guys who seem to be able to ID a whole set from memory

I'm new to this forum, and don't normally "do the scene", but I keep the beat with me wherever I go, and I've liked the electronic dance music since most of you were a glimmer in the eyes of a couplea baked kids at a Herbie Hancock concert.

Anyway, last week, I was searching online for Paul van Dyk tickets, and noticed that Armin van Buuren was playing at the same venue. So this was kind of a "last-minute" sort of thing for me, but I'm very glad that I went.

You can read my account of things at http://www.livejournal.com/users/theropod/76003.html

You know, I think I recall seeing you two down on the main floor towards the beginning of the night...say....10:30 - 10:45-ish. Along the left side. You probably wouldn't remember seeing a tall thin guy in glasses and a black shirt though, would you?

It sucks you guys couldn't stay longer, as it only got better, but I understand having to get home, especially with a long drive (I know Macon's quite the haul, was there just last weekend, and I live an hour north of Atlanta myself). Armin is one of the best names in Trance and has had an amazing run this year. I think that in the end, you will have enjoyed seeing him rather than PVD, given PVD's current style of play.

Anyhow...enjoyed your little review of the evening. But hey...don't knock us club goers for partying on a Wednesday night! Lots of us do, in fact, have "real" jobs - i.e. yours truly as an IT Operations Director for an International company - we just choose to take a vacation day the day after or we suck it up and go in.

Why, you may ask?

Because we love this shit

We were there that early. I had a NASA cap on for most of the time. That was me.

And you are totally right. As you may have noticed in the blog entry, I myself took the following day off from my work (as a planetarium curator).

As for the upcoming PVD show, I am just as eager to see that. Knowing my BF, we'll probably be early again. So this time, pop up and say hi!

You know, we're going to replace the carpet in my planetarium soon. I've joked that we should have a rave or something the night before we do it. We have lots of strobes, colored lights, video clips of spinning planets, etc. And a nice sound system. It'd make a great show. Then the morning after, just slice the carpet out and start all over. Oh, I'd get in all kinds of trouble for it. But wow would that be fun.
