I know a great many very functional cocaine users. You would be surprised at the amount of professionals, political big wigs, doctors, lawyers, etc. that use cocaine on a regular basis. Nearly all of the cocaine users I know are high achieving, very responsible, motivated people. In contrast, most of the meth users (especially the heavy users) I know have menial jobs, little motivation, and are likely to achieve nothing. I don't thing, however, that this is a difference in the drug itself but rather is more reflective of cost. Meth is much cheaper then coke and subsequently it is more cost effective for persons of lower income to use it then coke. A cocaine habit is very expensive and thus one must have a higher income to support it. Persons who are responsible, motivated, and high achievers are more likely to earn more money and therefore can afford coke. With regard to which is the bigger degenerate, I cannot comment as I do not associate with degenerates.

Indeed, however, the crackhead moniker in this instance is employed in the same manner in which persons of African decent in North America use the word Nigga. We use the term for empowerment, our intent is to show that the negative connotations associated with the term crackhead do not necessarally apply to all "hard drug" users.

from my experiences with people, coke heads are often the "high rollers" who have too much money on their hands and spiral out of control with coke (Whiteny Houston, "I make too much money to do crack", lol.)

meth heads are generally just sketchpads

You're forgetting all the cokeheads who have high-paying jobs, and are still able to keep them.

Methheads can't hold a gas-attendant job.

I think Meth is definitely more physically destructive.

Both are bad, IMO. I have seen too many people in my neighbourhood use both meth and coke or one or the other and fuck their lives up as well as others. The cokeheads I have seen are NOT rich business men. Where I live it is the prostitutes & strippers who use coke and meth to keep them going and to keep their John happy. It's a sick cycle.
I have not yet seen a highly functional cokehead and if there is one, it is an oxymoron.

You're comparing different levels of addiction here. What you say is true (in general) because meth is actually far more addictive than coke; however, coke addicts do not keep those high-paying jobs (or anything else in their lives) for very long.

Think about it - a dude who's just done an 8-ball of crystal has a good 12 hours of intense motivation and concentration ahead of him. But someone who's just snorted a line of coke has about 15 minutes of being completely off the wall, 3 hours of being a complete asshole to everyone around him, followed by an indefinite period of feeling sorry for himself until the next line.

It's really a silly question though - addiction to anything is horrible.

I dont know that i really have an opinion, but i guess id prolly say meth (though i despise coke just as much)

its sketchy to hear the tales of ppl cooking up their own meth and then accidents or mistakes happen (its not that hard) and chem fires start and large explosions often ensue and lives are destroyed, ppl killed or severely burned and maimed by the chemical fires and shrapnel. there was an article about the west coast's meth problem a few months back in Time i believe. it was a horrible and disgusting thing to read.

ive heard told that coke is very often employed by many strippers - often helps them do their thing... often the only way they are able to continue doing it...

which is sad - if you have to get high to be able to get the balls to do you job. strip if you like the money and it doesn't offend or bother your sensibilities - nothing wrong with stripping imo.

but to have to do drugs in order to be able to do such a job is sad and a horrible cycle to get stuck in and put urself through.

the difference between meth and coke to me is simple.
I find it easier to take a hit of speed maybe once a month to dance all nite and get the retard out of me (it feels good too)
if i do coke, i find myself wanting more and more.
that is why i stay away from regular coke usage as i find with speed i am able to do 1 and be happy with that.

I don't know if I necessarily believe that whole story or not..
there were a lot of things left out of that story to be able to judge or not

I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. I've seen videos and newslinks of what people do when high on meth and it's insane. when your brain is sleep deprived for 3 consecutive days, it makes you do some truly crazy shit, and see the world in a really fucked up way.
