I love to fight though, there is not to much you can do legally that is that much fun. If you guys are in the boston area or Atlanta you should come out and watch me get beat up sometime.

im only about 40 minutes from boston

let me know next time you fight

cool, if you check out www.massmma.com www.combatzonemma.com www.nagafighter.com those sites will give you a good listing of local mma events. I"m still in iraq but I will definitely be fighting when i get back.

i wish they had mma fights in california.

Posted by ghille on Oct-31-2005 22:38:

they do have them in cali, there on the rez.. king of the cage and gladiator challenge are two of the biggest shows and they do them all the time there. google those shows and see what you get brother.

Posted by DjConfessions on Oct-31-2005 23:59:

i'm confused of Pride's status in california. Sakakibara is always saying that the talks are goig great and that they are in the final stages of planning the event. However, every Cal Athletic State Commission indicates that they have rejected pride's rules.

Sakakibara seems to hold graet *pride* for his rules and wants them to be the international rules of fighting. namely, stomps and the 20 minute fight (1 10 minute round and 2 5 minute round).

edit:
o yes. and the biggest rumor is that Pride wants their first US event to have the main event of Sakuraba vs. Frank Shamrock

Posted by ghille on Nov-01-2005 00:03:

I have heard that talks are underway as well, I do know that there will not ever be stomps or kicks to downed opponents heads allowed i the us again in any major promotions. I have a big problem with rings as well, because of falling out of them, or having to restart all the time becasue your tangled upp in the ropes, the cage is much safer for the fighter and it also brings a certain flair to the fights.

Evans Decisions Jardine to Earn Spot in TUF2 FinalsRelated News
Kenny Florian - A Second Chance to Make A First Impression
"The Ultimate Fighter 2" Finale Live on Spike TV
Rashad Evans became the first heavyweight to advance to The Ultimate Fighter Season 2 Finale as he broke open a close fight with Keith Jardine in the third round en route to a unanimous decision victory. Scores were 29-28 across the board for Evans, who will face the winner of the other heavyweight semi-final between Brad Imes and Seth Petruzelli on The Ultimate Fighter Season 2 Finale, Live on Spike TV on Saturday, November 5th in Las Vegas.

So yea, my thoughts. Overall a pretty sweet fight, Jardine would've won the battle standing but as soon as it went to the ground in any round Evans dominated. Evans opened up a nice cut on Jardine's right eye and when you saw blood pouring from his face, you knew the decision would rule in Rishad's favor. Overall a great fight!

bunch of garbage like that... but yea, the last 3 fights have been SICK... and im sure the next ones will be too, so it appears Dana White has finally given us something great to watch.

Do you know of any MMA gym's in the NYC area? I know Rico is from NYC (Staten Island) but I think he might have moved out to Cali to train with Tito.

Posted by ghille on Nov-01-2005 18:40:

Hey Vlad, I know Renzo Gracie has a gym out that way, I used to live in upstate NY, Just moved last year..If you check out www.mma.tv there is a forum called the underground. get a screenname it's free, and there is a ton on fighters and info on there, I know there are some schools, so it really depends on what you want, if you can get to Renzo's thats where I would go though, he puts out champs. Believe me I've been schooled by a couple of them.. lol.

Posted by Staedtler on Nov-01-2005 18:41:

so....is it normal for these guys to call each other "studs" or is it a side-effect of having warm manflesh pressed against you as you shove your speedo-ed crotch against the back of a guy's head all day?

Posted by ghille on Nov-01-2005 18:45:

whatever idiot.

I have a couple of Renzo's jiu-jitsu video's on my computer. I know one of them is the advanced armlock, I watched it a couple days ago... some of the stuff is just, not useful in a fight lol.

Id like you to say that to Wanderlei Silva.

Posted by ghille on Nov-01-2005 18:50:

Hey Vlad, Renzo puts out some monsters in MMA, but hey there are a ton of schools out there, check em out and find the one your comfortable with, it's all about the experience anyway. Good luck bro, and I'm on the UG same screenname. take it easy.

well, unless his brazilian ju-jitsu allows him to dodge the bullet of a .45 magnum, i'm not afraid of that guy.

Id be doing it just for me, not to fight professionally or anything. I just love the martial arts, and am envious of those that know it.

Posted by ghille on Nov-01-2005 22:22:

Vlad, not everybody that trains there is into competition, there are plenty of people that do it just for the exercise, camraderie and such. so give it a try brother. there are alot of grappling tourneys now as well which do not allow striking and have just about every level of ability and experience. Now for Staedleter or whatever, dude, get a frigging life, and what the hell is a .45 magnum? I suppose you own one of these imagineary weapons? I'm sure if you would happen to have a gun you would not have the testes to aim and fire it at another human being, maybe you torture cats? get a life.

3 hours until ultimate fighter2 !!!!! ahhh

Posted by Krypton on Nov-02-2005 01:24:

the UFC is the best fighting sport ive ever watched. not only do they beat the living shit out of each other, its hard, the hands arent big fat boxing gloves, and u can use whatever martial arts skill you can use to you're advantage. and when the opponent falls, it doesnt stop, u jump on him, and pound him down until the ref pulls u away.

i saw one fight where one guys face got beat relentlessly, and when it was over, there was huge blood spatter pattern, and smeared blood on the mat. modern day gladiators i say.

Theres one complaint I have about UFC now versus UFC in the past... and thats the rounds.

For those people that have watched the very first UFC bouts, I loved the 15 minutes of non-stop fighting - it was just precious.

It kinda sucks they ahd to put all the rules in but its the only way it can survive. It sucked when there would be a fight and they'd take it to the ground for an hour or 2.

and is the ufc show on tonight again?

Well, back in the day... there were alot more wrestlers, grapplers and submission fighters - there werent alot of contact fighters. For example, as big as Shamrock was in '95, he was a submission fighter and not a standup fighter.
