electronic music is such a western sound we dont get much influence from these regions. its a shame really. its the same for asia, though i'm surprised more doesnt come out of japan all we really got was satoshi tomiie

Electronic music is a western sound?
...Should I begin to comment?

Out of Japan you have Ayumi Hamasaki and Yoji Biomehanika (lots of others that I can't think of off the top of my head right now -- but there really are a lot)

I'll simply say that electronic music is most definitely not restricted to the west, and is far from a "western sound"

Coming up in February.....

Mo-Shic - Salamat

Check the samples at http://www.saikosounds.com/english/...ase.asp?id=5405 - going to be amazing if you ask me...

Ayumi Hamasaki is a pop singer. Not an EDM producer. or did you get fooled by all the Ayu Trance Cds?

Arrow Confusing Asian/Indian influence with Middle-East influence

Most tracks seem to be confused with Asian influence with that of Middle-Eastern.

Way out West - Killa, PVD - Nothing But You etc have distinct Indian semi-classical influence (specially in the female vocal part).

Possible. It is not very surprising to have familiar vocal styles transcend national or regional boundaries.

I have grown up listening to Indian Classical/Semi-classical vocals and could've swore my life that i was listening to one when i heard "Nothing But You" for the first time.

Posted by globalelectro on Jun-06-2006 15:04:

OMG Dude,

The song that would fit the best in that category would be

Terry Grant - I'll Kill You (Original Mix)

You can assume its arabic sounding but i also think it has some moroccan influences as well. OMg, the voice of the singer.........

its freaking orgasmic, one of the best tracks of the year.

couldn't disagree more.

Music is music. Sometimes it sounds similiar, doesn't necesserily mean there's influence.

Posted by Abhay on Jun-06-2006 15:49:

Indian music has evolved from Middle Eastern music.

That doesn't make india a part of the middle east.

so there needs to be a clear set definition here.

i've already mentioned this earlier in this thread. people often group indian music together with middle eastern music. it's very different. both in styles and sounds.

lol,

well i'm just saying, it's like epic trance evolved from psytrance. IT's different, but evovled from it, so some elements of similarity.

I get the impression taht some peopel here think that indians are arabs.

they're not.

India is not fucking part of the middle east.

Damn Yanks.

Get it right idiots.

I don't know if it has been mentioned in this thread but Conjure One's first album is heavily influenced by middle eastern sounds
