And all but this forum saw it. To be honest, I was shocked your name even came up from Dave's mouf. But I was not aware of this event at all.

Yeah, I rarely bother with that cesspool, otherwise known as the COR. I think Jerry Springer reruns have proven themselves to be a more valuable form of entertainment than that section of TA - so I make it a point to stay away.

Springer = 15 Years of Trash TV

Dani, I hope you don't mind me asking, but what was the joke? I don't want to bother having to read though 200 pages of crap to find it, but I also don't like being held in suspense like this.

sure, no prob- a while ago, there was a thread about g&d playing in dc.. so i posted something along the lines of "i wouldn't go see them if my left boob depended on it." true, i really dont like their music at all but c'mon people.. joke, joke.

weeks and weeks later, dave, who i never ever talk to on IM, sends me this message, packed with the passive aggressiveness that only he can pull off so well: "well good thing your tits dont make a different in the outcome of my career" and by that point, i forgot wtf he was talking about or the fact that i posted it all but since he loves to do searches on himself, he sent me the link to it (if i were him, why would i care about someone having a negative opinion about them? everyone is entitled to like/dislike something and i just do not like their productions or djing skills-- or lack thereof-- at all.) so at first, i hastily posted the convo it online bc i wasn't even sure it was him in fact.. could have been a prank... but then it was obvious it was him and i thought the whole situation was hilarious and so i posted it in the CORe basically making a self-deprecating joke about how dave pwned me w/ the tits statement he started off with. and boy, that really fired him up- the whole screename thing seemed secondary to the fact that i had posted up some of his evident arrogance in the first place.

the *only* mistake i made was to post his IM name so of course, that's the only thing i've been blasted for pretty much. now, the entire issue blew up to a completely different topic- people just hating bc he's an arrogant, debasing prick on the boards who acts like a crybaby and insults people if they dont think his music is good. so i guess my original thread was just a trigger for some all out intarweb war.

on a side note, i can't believe how much it has blown up and it's obvious that dave's thread in the music discussion was not only a way of revenge (which is sad since he claims he could never stoop to such low levesl but i could really care less about this) but just more attention-seeking bc any publicity is good publicity, so he says.

Oh yea. I remember that left boob comment.

don't make me put out the fire.
In all honesty, I apologize if this made you relive some nightmares. Just saw in the music discussion, and thought people here in ny would be interested on how someone leaves a forum board.

With a BANG!!!

Posted by LuNaSeA on Oct-31-2005 04:55:

you call that a bang? ..more like a desperate last attention seeking attempt.. aka a dud.. he might not post anymore, but he'll be watching alright

Posted by BiG MiKE on Oct-31-2005 04:59:

I'll ask him when he comes to Spirit in December

Interesting... Thanks for the rundown.

I had thought that maybe you had publicly called him a prima donna or something along those lines.

I can see where both of you are coming from, but I can also see how it's been blown out of proportion.

I think it's kind of funny how petty disputes on online message boards often seem to escalate with a snowball effect - but I guess that's just due to people having lowered inhibitions when they don't have to communicate with one another face to face.

Oh well. And as you said, at least Dave gets a little extra publicity out of it. I'm sure he'll cool down soon enough - or maybe if we're lucky, he'll let loose some of that misplaced anger by throwing down a viciously pounding set at Glow this coming weekend.

Thanks for describing me as that was one of my motives for creating this thread jk

Posted by LuNaSeA on Oct-31-2005 05:02:

i have no "internet muscles".. i think ppl that have met me can tell you that i'm exactly how i am online as i am in person

but yea, let's hope all this insanity inspires him to throw it down at glow.. ! that being said, i wont be on that rollcall

His screen name was listed among those browsing the Music Discussion board just a few minutes ago, so if that's not a positive indication - I don't know what is.

You'd think that since he's been on TA for so long now that he'd know about "invisible mode"

Posted by Vlad on Oct-31-2005 05:16:

Ahhh, who cares...

Him doing that proves one thing, he cares more about his ego than anything else. Anyone that cant take criticism shouldnt even exist in this community.

The only people that care are the ass kissing "celebrity" whores that want to get in his pants, guys and girls respectively.

I met Gabriel & Dresden briefly in 2003 when they were first breaking out into the scene, when ATRC was blowing up in every club in the world. They spun @ Arc, closing for John Fleming, June 21, 2003, than later came to, at the time, Victor Dinaire's loft and spun. Nice, egoless guys... I think this so called "fame" went to atleast one of their heads.

Whatever, no loss in my opinion.

Up until this point, he's probably never paid that much attention. His inbox is full, anyway.

You also have to understand that once they become famous, people have to deal with some serious vultures (as well as celebrity whores) on a daily basis. I'm sure it can't be a good thing to have to deal with psychologically.

I don't look at celebrities any differently than I do anyone else. They're people just like we are, but they've just been lucky enough to have received their so called, "big breaks." To put it bluntly, their shit stinks just like yours and mine does... and sometimes even much worse.

Now, that was funny.

However, I wouldn't consider that a mistake seeing as how it has cause me and I'm sure a few others much laughter. And that, my friend, is what I was put on this Earth for. Well, either that or to spread the word about how great the Coca-Cola is at the Auntie Anne's pretzel stand in the Staten Island Mall.

Best.
Coke.
Ever.
