Takaka has even more of his own sets on his website if you go there. A lot actually. Gatta give him credit for that. But why did he have to leave a flaming bag of shit on my front porch?

What do you mean by this?

I haven't heard this guy yet, are you trying to tell me he is a poor dj?

Posted by varun on Nov-01-2005 14:01:

Gotta love techno. About half of what I play out ranges from tribal-tech to a bit minimal(not often though).

Who does it for me :
Valentino Kanzyani
Marko Nastic
Hertz
Cave
Mac Zimms
Rowdy Sparks
Felipe and Bacher
and last but not the least :
Ken Ishii

he's okay i guess. occasionally he has some trouble lining up beats during a trasnition. yet it's hard to say something good about someone who pulls the same old prank on you every halloweeeeeeeeen, and you fall for it every time. TAKAKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Posted by basd on Nov-01-2005 15:06:

Yup, he's certainly not the best out there technically, and most of the sets I've heard of him were a bit all over the place programming-wise, but this minimal one (the only minimal one on his site, the rest is full-on) is certainly very good, it shows a completely different side of him.

That sucks he puts shit on your doorstep.

I wish i was smarter, because i think theres a hidden joke in there somewhere

Anything from Basic Channel to Richard Bartz. Not too much of the really hard stuff though (Adam Beyer etc). Surgeon is fine though.

Lovely minimal mix from Takaaki Itoh, couldn't stand this in a club but it's great for home / on the road listening.

I think it would be interesting to see this live.

Yip! My fave is probably Fluxion's "Vibrant Forms" and I just stumbled across Arranged and Processed Basic Channel Tracks by Scion.

Sandleaper and Alpha are always in the know. If not resurrect, definately check out everyone's recommendations in the Most Beautiful Techno thread, by none other than.. me For some reason, it all seems to hail from Detroit.

I'm loving Heiko Laux as well. Villalobos is so deep you feel that your heart is going to hit the floor. That's how I feel about Garniers "Crispy Bacon!" hmmmm...

I wonder what clubbing to minimal would be like. I don't know. I see it being a more bobbing lounge with lots of contemporary art, and colorful flourescent light. Only cocktail dress and suits allowed. Very cosmopolitian ish, no one without sunglasses. Mode. Like Richie's hair.
