| Originally posted by nusty The route through NY, PA, NJ and back into NYC is by far the fastest. and the scenery in PA is nice anyway. From Toronto your best bet is through niagra falls (401 to QEW). Once on the US side you'll want to take 90E to 81S (switch to 81 just after syracuse) take 81 to scranton. after Scranton switch to 380 then get onto 80 80 will take you in through NJ stay on 80 until you see the third or fourth exit for route 46 (80 and 46 cross over a bunch but the longer you stay on 80 the better since it is faster) once you are on 46 stay on it until Clifton then switch onto route 3. route 3 will take you directly to the lincon tunnel and into NYC. |

Haha (But you love me...you know it) |

Drive during the night, the roads are empty during the night hours. When I was driving up there, the roads were in fact empty and we didn't see one cop

| Originally posted by nusty be careful... NJ and NY cops hide REALLY well! They actually have spots cut out of the forests for them to sit in. PA cops don't tend to be on the roads much after 1am (in general). |
because untill 5AM we really didn't see one cop. You should be careful either way, some 'highways' in NY don't even allow speeding, since the roads are curvy as hell and single lane. Definitely take care.

I took this photo in NYC on Tuesday. I saw the poster and thought you'd all like a "photo-teaser" for your trip.

I'm still insanely jealous of you all, but alas, 2-wheeled priorities prevail...

That is the route I took. I recommend it.
thats the exact same as what I've recomended as well a few pages back. the only difference is that I personally prefer to just stay on the HW through syracuse. it take and extra mile rather than going around on 690 but saves on directions and lets you see the campus of university of S. on your left as your go through heading down.
Besides that I wouldn't deal with 280 around Newark and just stay on 80 till your exit for Clifton/ route 46 then switch to route 3 for the lincoln tunnel and then take that straight into manhattan. Its a bit less distance and avoids the tolls and confusion of looping around 280 to the turnpike. so it skips 14-17 on that ^ list.
again as posted earlier if you need a place to park for free or late night directions if you get confused let me know or PM me your cell # if there is a risk of you leaving before I get your message.
Sorry I won't be able to go home to NYC this weekend guys. Have a blast through.
I AM SO jealous this sux
have fun!
