Agree completely.
Saw Tom Middleton at Manumission and it was the highlight of a rather musically uninspiring night so I guess I ought to give his e-mix a listen in gratitude.
Listened to Jeoy Negro's set last week ago and well enjoyed it. But of course I'm more than a little partial to disco sounds.
Heard Bob Sinclar's set and that was poo. Hope he plays some better shit when he's out here on NYD.
Sneak's set from July wasn't bad either but really more of the same-old same-old from him. Been meaning to listen to the Masters at Work mix but haven't had a chance yet.
Didn't really click with Eric Prydz (same with seeing him live). And as much as I like Ingrosso/Angello tunes their mix really didn't do much for me.
Quite a bad year for the e-mix I must say. Digweed and especially Desyn with their one hour sets however absolutely cleaned everyone else up. PvD's 2hr GKGG set was also great but the hour they broadcast was not the OMGZZIDIE hour, it was the other inferior one.
Sasha's set sucks balls in comparison and should have never made the shortlist but no doubt it'll probably rip everyone else off and win just like Sasha & Digweed cheated Desyn out of 2nd place last year.

I agree with you here as well. Listening to Sasha's set, at the time, everything seemed new and inventive, but listening to sets he did later in the year, they tracklists were all the same [except for a night here in toronto where he went back to back with lawler, and gave off a HUGE show].
And, the work he's doing with albeton now is far better than what he was doing at the time the mix was recorded IMO.

yeah, at the time he recorded that, I had the pleasure of catching him play in montreal a couple weeks prior....the man is every bit as good as that live.
