dEsidEL, the company is EU based....doing work for the Telegraf newspaper ( in some roundabout way heh)
And what is the consensus on the pics??! Whos are they REAAAAALLYY?

amsterdam is very interesting, and has a lot to offer.. meaning, it's very tourism oriented, which then translates into very steep prices for virtually everything you can think of.. i got to meet a few people that lived there and they all said, although its a fun city, it's also very hard to get by...
in any case, 4 months there is better spent than 4 months here!
have fun

speaking of ID&T .. take ur two hands and press ur digits against each other with the thumb pointed outward in a 90 degree angle .. now take both hands and place ur two thumbs side-by-side with palms facing outward .. that's how they wave hello to each other there

don't worry about speaking dutch... unless your accent is perfect residents of a'dam will be speaking english to you....
don't worry about the drugs either.... drugs in the netherlands are quite clean, and if you're worried about them you can always get them tested....
the most important thing is to not get frustrated... the dutch, like any other group of people, can be quite difficult at times, especially to buitenlanders... its nothing personally meant by it... its just the dutch... get used to hearing things like 'it's not possible.'
amsterdam is a beautiful city... take the time to see everything you can.... goto the rijks museum , see the nightwatch... also see the torrentious(sp?) painting, only one of his paintings to survive... the van gogh, anne frank huis, heineken brewery... do all the touristy stuff and get it out of the way as soon as possible... there's a funny little sex museum right by centraal station... at very least a laugh...
visit den haag, i like that city, far more dutch then amsterdam.... and you can see delft while you're their... when i had first moved to holland they were celebrating the city's 750th anniversary.....
other then that maastricht is a great town to visit... party/university town, with a very different history to it then the rest of the netherlands...
any specific questions, feel free to ask...

I would move into a boat if you want to be close to the central station.

my friend moved there four years ago. if you need help, pm, and i'll point you the right way. to find a place in amsterdam is quite difficult. you'll probably have to commute...
