| Originally posted by ::TranceVanDyk:: well, i walk into my house. i know they are there. i see a cell phone, shoes, a wallet on the counter. ok, they arent in the living room....what are they doing upstairs where the bedrooms are.... i slowly walk up the stairs, and i hear a real life porno in the works, except, my MOM was in it !!!!!i sneaked into my room, stuffed my face into my blankets, and laughed my ass off. the door was wide open, and i could have just strolled right in. well, then i made a ruckus, by turning on my light, and turning on my stereo. i heard the door close immediatly. |
once i got a call from a telemarketer and i said "if you give me your home phone number ill call you back when you are busy!"
but he was all "do you work for a survey company, sir?"
me: "no it was a joke...."
him: "oh good joke sir"
*hangs up

I hate them. I still get one or two calls a week even though my phone is on the Do Not Call list.
The other day when I got a call, the lady asked me if I was the head of the household. My parents weren't home so I said yes (and I still would've even if my parents were home). She proceeded to give me bullshit about random stuff, so I gave her a nice, long barrage of fake burps. It took her about thirty seconds before she finally realized I was fucking around, and said, "You're the head of the household? *click*".
I've always wanted to do the Seinfeld line, but always forget until right after I hang up...
"Sure, I'm interested. I'm a bit busy right now so can I get your home phone number so I can call you back and talk to you about it? Oh, so you don't like getting unwanted calls at home? Now you know how I feel. *click*"

Speaking of Telemarketers, Don't you hate it when you get these calls that usually happen durring an Election Year?, The calls are just recordings to vote for whoever in your part of town and such, Even though the Do Not Call List thing works, It doesn't stop those calls from the polititians trying to get your votes.
During "peak" telemarketing hours I often answer the phone saying "Ace telemarketing, how can I help you?" , yet they still don't miss a beat.
interesting
direct marketing versus - casting the net
good concept
anyone who shops at Walmart Corp
you are committing the same cult of busted cheapness of info drawn for directed market response.
for those that don't expect much - catalogue/telephone sales were a way of life for many years.
There is still value to be had. Competition makes it that way.
So pick your deal wisely - you do have choices.
so now it's slick advertising - that baits us..... - a good salesman - draws his own pictures of display with succint closure of the sales event.
Business is business - storefront or no..........

i hate to say it guys but telemarketing works.

politicians and charitees are exempt from no-call lists because they are not trying to sell a product.
