once i got a call from a telemarketer and i said "if you give me your home phone number ill call you back when you are busy!"

but he was all "do you work for a survey company, sir?"
me: "no it was a joke...."
him: "oh good joke sir"

I know, I've had some pretty crappy jobs before but that took the cake, I was in between jobs and I think I lasted there about a day or two.

I hate them. I still get one or two calls a week even though my phone is on the Do Not Call list.

The other day when I got a call, the lady asked me if I was the head of the household. My parents weren't home so I said yes (and I still would've even if my parents were home). She proceeded to give me bullshit about random stuff, so I gave her a nice, long barrage of fake burps. It took her about thirty seconds before she finally realized I was fucking around, and said, "You're the head of the household? *click*".

I've always wanted to do the Seinfeld line, but always forget until right after I hang up...

"Sure, I'm interested. I'm a bit busy right now so can I get your home phone number so I can call you back and talk to you about it? Oh, so you don't like getting unwanted calls at home? Now you know how I feel. *click*"

actually, she is very religious, so i was quite surprised. i cant post pics of my mum. that goes just too far.

Speaking of Telemarketers, Don't you hate it when you get these calls that usually happen durring an Election Year?, The calls are just recordings to vote for whoever in your part of town and such, Even though the Do Not Call List thing works, It doesn't stop those calls from the polititians trying to get your votes.

During "peak" telemarketing hours I often answer the phone saying "Ace telemarketing, how can I help you?" , yet they still don't miss a beat.

Over here they've become such a nuisance that we get free caller display, so if any number begins in 08 or 09 i dont answer. some get through tho cos my mum works for citizens advice who have their number withheld, so i answer the odd display of ---- and get someone selling so i just hang up

that's why I live in a country who wouldn't sink that low. We just get the person in a car with a loudspeaker all of election week shouting who to vote for. Needless to say the car quite often meets mr egg.

i hate to say it guys but telemarketing works.

my friends in the biz make 6 figures, and have been for 2+ years in a market that has gotten worse and worse

Hate to say it buddy, But it doesn't, Once the Do Not Call List is in place, They can't do shit about it, I personally find it a nuisance for some total stranger calling your house trying to sell you something you don't even need, Heh.

yep. since i turned 18, and am now eligible to vote, even the local politicians who are running simply for county shit call me.
