...

I'd feel pretty iffy about prepaying 60 bones and coordinating a meet with a complete stranger at the show. Just not a leap I would make...

However, if money and tickets traded hands at the same time...

Agreeded...not saying that anyone here isn't honest and trustworthy...but you always got to take precautions!

Posted by GoZO on Nov-23-2005 03:52:

With anything you buy on eBay you pay upfront. Including tickets for any other event or a regular item.

I am well known on the detroitclubscene.com board and a honest guy.
The friend that is selling these tickets is honest and trustworthy.

Numbers will be exchanged after the auction.

If you are that scared about online sales why even use ebay?

Personally I don't use eBay.

I'm very hesitant with buying things online specifically for paying up front. There are some sites however that I have come to trust...groovetickets, ticketmaster, amazon.

It was my impression that this was just a deal going through on a personal basis...not through a website.

Anyway...I'm not the one buying the ticket, so you guys do what you will. Good luck though...like I said...I'm sure that you people are all very honest and trustworthy. I mean it IS TrancEaddict, we ARE one big happy family that's always looking out for each other

You're right it's called the Boom Boom Room (www.boomboomroom.ca - I think that's the website). It opened Halloween weekend with Mark Oliver. I was going to check it out, but was in Toronto for Andy Moor & Steve Lawler.

Their site is under construction right now, but I was on it a couple days ago and it said that Saturday's were Rap & Hip-Hop I think (booooo), and Friday's they played a mix of Euro and Top 40. Not really my thing.

I think they're going to try to get some DJ in there though...like Mark for example...KT you should see what's goin on there too! I'd definatly make it out for that.

As far as I know, Remo is still running the club. Don't hold me to that though. There's a number on the website to call for reservations if any DJs are interested.

As for Wild Orchid. Haven't been there in awhile. I think they still have their EDM nights on Tuesday's. Though I haven't heard of anyone big coming in recently, except for local talent - which is always good to support!

yeah they are doing electronic music. Would to see KT or Beier drop a set there.

And Orchid still has there Tuesday nights, but no room to dance or do anything.

Not the same as it used to though...Swtich Fridays were a great concept. Now it's all Euro and EDM I'm not really into on Fridays. Mark Oliver was there to open the club...I'm sure they'll get some names in their...hint hint KT...Elevation?? And maybe some other TA DJs!

yeah. Switch Fridays was pretty cool. Went to BBR on Saturday. They played way too much euro/gino crap music. Hopefully when the upstairs opens they'll bring in some talent.

TOMORROW! WOOT!

Ok, so STOP the snow immediately...send it back north where it belongs, at least for 2 days, mmkay? This drive is going to be very interesting...going to have to make an early start...which may mean an early arrival...which *will* mean pre-party inebriation...so I am up to meeting anywhere nearby before the doors open to kickoff the holiday. 740-317-4339 is my cell.

Posted by marcus_beier on Nov-24-2005 09:03:

Does anybody have a recommendation for parking at state theatre?

Thanks!

Posted by marcus_beier on Nov-24-2005 22:54:

Parking is pretty shitty near the state theatre..i think theres a fox theatre garage, otherwise there should be surface lots behind (south) of it.

Posted by dubblies on Nov-25-2005 02:13:

deffinitely try the garage. Plenty of street parking if you wanna risk that, just south on Woodward and side streets. But, I also recommend the garage.

yip yip\ yea Tiesto! (and KT & Beier) WooooWooo!

Posted by Tuis on Nov-26-2005 00:52:

Since I left early to account for possible snow, I got there WAY early, like 6:30, so I was able to park right around the corner from the entrance (which was especially advantageous given the freaking insane cold and wind that night). Passed the time in the bar right next door until 9ish and was 6th one inside the theater - laughing at the poor dude who was flipping out because the event was sold out...sheesh, like duh =p

Posted by marcus_beier on Nov-26-2005 16:56:

Smiley DJ

Sick, Sick night...i havent had that much fun opening ever..glad some peeps got there early because 9-10 is about as early a slot can be...KT did a fantastic job of taking us into Tiesto...wastn all that impressed with Tiesto's set, but with a vibe like the venue had going that night i was all cylinders straight thru last night...now bring on PVD @ the State

Posted by Tuis on Nov-26-2005 20:15:

Yeah, you looked like you were having fun and KT right there giving props, well, that's just class. What sucked was that for over half of your set, most people were still outside shivering, getting searched, or dealing with the coat check.

Posted by Dufouria on Nov-26-2005 22:47:

Huge props to you and KT. Get opening sets!

Posted by marcus_beier on Nov-26-2005 22:53:

Thanks guys, yeah there was no way around the fact that my set was early, and inevitably many wouldnt catch it...truly was a 'warm up' set on that cold of a night

Posted by Tuis on Nov-26-2005 23:27:

Cold would be an understatement. I thought there would be casualties...especially when I would see some girl get in line wearing naught but tight pants and a tank top - omg what were you thinking?! Must've been some good drugs involved....
