i've been known to light it up when i've had some to drink or i'm a little knackered
otherwise you'll see me off to the side doing the head-bob

Posted by stefanoc on Nov-21-2005 07:22:

i cant stop dancing for shit when im mixing.
if i dont dance, then my right leg is always moving. i move it soo much that it hurts my right side of the back

Posted by kr00t0n on Nov-21-2005 16:50:

I dance well and love it, it kinda spurs me on djing, as I want to be the one making people on the dancefloor dance, like when I used be in their position

When I'm out at a club, I'm generally a booth whore, watching whoever's performing play, bobbing my head, and occasionally dancin' a bit if I'm so inclined, but I'm definitely not a dance floor whore by any stretch of the imagination, however...

When I'm spinning, I can't help but dance my ass off. I've been told more than once that just because of how much I dance around while I mix that I'm a lot of fun just to watch play, which I think is great, because I think a LOT of people who I end up playing for might not get as into it as they do if they saw me mixing like a robot a la PVD... I find it also REALLY helps me keep time, whether it's just moving my feet or busting out the quote en quote "Ferry fingers," pounding out a melody on the table...

You should see me rock out at the retro nights.

My fro + Pinstripe pants + Funky town or Stayin alive = 70s all over again

I usually check out the dj.. see whats up.. But not toooooooo much.. gets teh boring!

Posted by wee_rooney on Nov-21-2005 18:07:

you cant beat just standing in front of the speakers all night, dancin away in your own wee world! although at bigger events i have a nasty habbit of peakin way too early and crashin out on the floor up the back of the techno arena's! maybe givin a little nod of the head ... or a finger tap!!!

Posted by DJ_RoKo on Nov-22-2005 05:00:

dooodd!!! i can dance, fo reel! i am the shizzle at dancin broe, i dance like a chick, lol. mind you it takes about 1/2 a bottle to get my up and at it.

Hey guys... just thinking the same thing, was gonna come on and post a thread about it, luckily someone did it for me

When im around the decks i have to move groove, jump around etc, and when i go clubbing i loooove to dance, i never thought i could.. but i think i manage quite well considering the amount of guys i see there looking really funny when they dance.. only hting is itll take me a while on the booze to get me there lol...

Im shitting it now because friday night its my first biggish club gig, playing here in adelaides number 1 trance night, peak-time set with the promoter / adelaides number 1 trance dj from 1:30-3:30

Im worried cus everyone there is gonna be alot older than me, with only a few of my mates which just turnded 18 with me dancing away.. not to sure to go mental and maybe look like a knob but have fun orrrr stay relaxed and mix

Posted by Trance Nutter on Nov-22-2005 06:40:

Solace didn't promote this in AuTA this time around.
I wonder why the swap from Black Cat to Tonic?
See what I can do, I always enjoy Echo but haven't been able to make the last few cos of other stuff I've had going on.

Posted by Nikolas Vaughn on Nov-22-2005 06:43:

Yeh... not to sure why the change etc..

if you wanna come i can put your name on the door, just pm me or somehting if you want.. later

Posted by sr126 on Nov-22-2005 07:19:

i'm not a great dancer by any stretch of the imagination... but i don't let it stop me for cutting the rug when i'm feeling it.

kinda like how you can't stop someone w/varicose veins from wearing shorts... you can't keep me off the floor. ha ha ha... uuhhhh.. he he uuummmm... hhheee.....

actually i'm the kind of person who will leave the booth, to dance out of the floor... assuming i have that kind of time between records. if not then i'm grooving inside the booth.

to me, dancing is like taking a picture, or dj'ing... anyone can do, it's just some do it better than others...

Posted by razzi on Nov-22-2005 15:46:

i figure most djs should be able to dance pretty well (considering that we all have good rhythm). id say im a pretty good dancer

if you need help, just take tips from the TA dancer:

razzi.

Used to be a B-Boy back in the eighties, it's what got me into DJing.
In the early 90's used to be a dancer at a club with two ladies as company (nope nothing kinky before you ask) so yes sir, I can boogie all night long.

Dancing is fun and I just love music. Dance when I spin too or do other things that are linked to the rythm of the tracks.

Cheers
Nem

I can sorta dance, or at least I think I can when Im drunk. I got a couple of moves I can bust out on the floor. I love to dance around when Im djing, too, its hella fun to just dance around and then start mixing and then dance again.

Posted by CosmoKid on Nov-22-2005 22:26:

i was featured as Kelly Monaco's partner on ABCs "dancing with the Stars"

Posted by djsphere on Nov-22-2005 22:38:

can't dance. i just shake my head sometimes or tap my foot.

that's it.

Posted by Rockabye on Nov-22-2005 22:54:

I think good dancing is based on a good feeling of the music and the rhythm.

And imo people often look stupid when they dance because they make their moves to fast and make too many stupid moves instead of just shaking their booty a bit.

The key is to have smooth moves syncron to the rhythm.

Shaking the booty and moving your upper part of the body from one side to the other with slacky shoulders and arms is enough to avoid looking stupid in most cases.

And of course some people just can't free their mind and concentrate too much on their dancing style instead of letting the music flow and let their body move by himself.

But the most important point is: just dance!!! no matter how you look or what other people think of you! just move your body to the music and have a good time!

Even if you look stupid, just dance! People who dance by themselves won't mind about you because they are in their own world and doing their own stuff and people who just stand around, watching people who dance and laugh at them have no right to critizise you. Why don't they go on the dancefloor? One reason is that they are to shy to dance or they look as stupid as you when they dance so they decide to judge other people and making fun of them...then they are sad persons!

And be carefull with the use of alcohol! If you drink too much you will look more stupid than before when you dance! And I hate drunk people on the floor who couldn't control their bodies and bump at other people the whole time.

Besides sex their is nothing better in the world than dancing to good music on a loud and clear pa system with closed eyes and a smile on your face

i dance, all the time. i think i do a decent job of it.

however, if i heard some tv show or something taped a clubnight and there was, say, a 2 min clip of me dancing, i'd probably NOT want to see it.

sure, i dance, and dont give a shit... but i probably look like a retard

^^^^^^^^^^Is liquid considered dancing? Dont get me wrong, it is stunning to watch someone who is good at it, but is it "dance" ?

I can do the truffle shuffle with my fat belly!!!

I love to dance, I partied long before I ever purchased vinyl.
