i was disappointed that the new Ulrich Schnauss and Spooky album's didn't come out

Renaissance Presents : Nic Fanciulli

im not saying it was bad, but i expected so much more from Nic....his live sets are waaay better

Posted by nsamadi on Nov-23-2005 03:00:

another on for TOPD2, don't need to say too much more. F&uck up alot of tracks and it just sucked in general.

Balanace 008.

(i rly liked gu28, both cds.. cd2 especially.. thats prog right thurr)

Armin Van Buuren - Shivers - I wasn't expecting a lot after his previous album, but this one was complete dogshit. I think "Zocalo" was the only decent track on the whole album.

Paul Van Dyk - Politics of Dancing 2 - as others have already said, this was a big disappointment, especially considering how good the first one was.

yeah Shivers was really bad. Not much worth playing.

Posted by Rick D on Nov-23-2005 10:18:

don't think i've bought any cd's this year

Posted by D-res on Nov-23-2005 10:18:

i loved fundacion. i thought it could have ended better but for the most part i loved it. i had the oppotunity to pick of ISOS4 and POD2 but i decided against it and about GU025: Deep Dish Toronto, Sharam Afterclub mix and i'm happy with that decision

Sasha - Fundacion
Markus Schulz - Miami 05

ISOS 4 - that guy who used to be number 1.

Foo Fighters - In Your Honour.

I know I am in the minority but I really liked ISOS 4. It's been a staple in my cd rotation.

My biggest disapointment was TPOD 2. It should have been named "The Retrospect of Dancing."

Also agree with the disapointment in ASOT 2005 although I did see Armin twice this year and he was terrific both times.

ISOS 4 and Shivers.
Yeh I'm an ex-tiesto fan.
I really liked armin too.
Isos 4 had some really amazing tracks but most of them are bad.
I mean putting 2 minutes and a half of arcadia in the first cd is useless to the mix.
Prolly some contract.
And thats just an example.
Shivers sucks big time too, It's just boring and shivers is cheeeeeeeeze.

I so agree. Same with the Jase tune "Do what you want." Fit great on Holden's Balance 005 but sucks the life out of mix on ISOS 4.

I should have prefaced my comment to ISOS 4 disk 2. One of my favorite mix cd's of the year.

for you that mention shivers, get real. did you really expect it to be anything else than crap considering what armin has been up to the latest years? is it really the most dissapointing cd of the year? something tells me you need to broaden your musical horizons a little.

foo fighters went shit already with one by one, so it doesnt come as a surprise their new album was rather shit compared to their good stuff (this, this and also some parts on this). everlong was their peak track in my opinion.

personally i think the biggest dissapointment was boc's new album. not because it was bad, but my expectations were rather high after what warp claimed to be 'very much classic boards' reminding of 'music has the..'. but instead it turned out to have lots of acoustic influences which seems to be so trendy right now. a solid album but not in the same league as their earlier masterpieces.

ASOT 2005 was a stinker in my books... POD2 was weak too

as Armin has been good and had alot of potential in the past (many older TA's will agree here), it's a disappointment to see him fall deeper and deeper into the uncreative, uninspired abyss that he has dug himself into the last few years.

yes, Shivers sucked and was a letdown. it's always disappointing to see DJ's/producers who have the potential drop the ball.

broaden my musical horizons a little?

Wow... 4 pages and VERY few people posting Ferry Corsten.. Either of them..

Then again I loved them well.. only 1 cd from each compilation did it for me..

As for others. I haven't really listened to any others.. haha..

TPOD2. Very disappointing compared to what the name should carry, and a pretty weak compilation in general.

Even considering my lack of taste for Sasha's current style, Fundacion was ridiculously boring. Decent tracks, good mixing, but no soul.

Stop putting down POD2, it's very good. The year's disappointment's have got to be all the Ministry Of Sound releases - Clubber's Guides, Annuals, Summer Annuals, the lot. Ministry are capable of alot better than the garbage they are putting out these days. Very disappointing!

Posted by stren on Nov-24-2005 12:38:

balance 008
