Heat. Two of the best actors of the modern era (De Niro & Al Pacino) go head to head in a cop vs. criminal masterpiece.

It's not a gun hoe charge around shooting affair, deep plot, quite slow and involving, some quality seens in it. One of the best films ever.

American History X - Awesome all round. Based on racism, cant be arsed to type more, go find

South West 9 - Amusing story about a bunch of guys in London setting up a rave in a church, and getting hold of the drugs to fuel it. From the people behind Human Traffic. Great soundtrack as well.

The Acid House - Three bizarre short films. The last one, from which the collection takes its title, is about a Scottish chav who takes a tab to many, gets struck by lightening and ends up being transported into the body of a middle class couples new born baby.

Panic in Needle Park - Al Pachino as a heroin addict in his first major movie role.

Romper Stomper - Amazingly violent movie, about Australian skinhead Nazis. Staring Russell Crowe.

Kids - An amoral young New York skater sets out to deflower as many virgins as possible, but things go badly when one gets tested for HIV. If you watch nothing else, make sure you see this!!

The Business - Best British gangster movie in a while, even though it is set in Spain. Also has a great 80's soundtrack.

Easy Ryder - Two counterculture bikers travel from Los Angeles to New Orleans in search of America. Probably my favourite film of all time. If you haven't seen it, make sure you do NOW!

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - An oddball journalist and his psychopathic lawyer travel to Las Vegas for a series of psychedelic escapades. Probably my other favourite movie of all time. Make sure you read the book as well. RIP Hunter S. Thompson you legend.

Groove - Slightly dubious script and acting, but worth watching anyway for the plot, soundtrack, and John Digweed's cameo at the end.

Go! - Go! tells the story of the events after a drug deal, told from three different points of view. Pretty entertaining.

All these have already been mentioned but are definitely worth seeing if you haven't already.

Human Traffic
Battle Royale
City of God
Requiem For a Dream
Running Man
Scarface

I've still never seen "kids"...

I'll ad these:

Carlito's way
Godfather 1/2
Goodfellas
Gangster Number 1 (someone might have said this already)
I.D (Best Hooligan film ever)
Bladerunner (and THAT Vangellis soundtrack )
