since gigi d'aggostino thread was in the vicinity ill give a similar background as i did there

picotto has basically produced every genre of music. He's been producing since at least 1991 with his original iguana sample trakc "we gonna get"

He continued to produce and remix cappella (eurodance) and other eurodance artists in the early to mid 90s

probably one of his first trance productions was bakerloo or angel's symphony (done with gigi d'aggostino)

Picotto went via the route of gigi at this point and joined bxr. although gigi kept his style unique picotto improvised on this style and went very experimental. His later productions included lizard (with a massive build up and tecnho remixes.

He created a few anthemic trance productions (komodo lizard, iguana, proximus, like this like that, back to cali and perhaps a few others)

most of these productions had tea mixes and megamind mixes, which would predominatley be creative less loopy hard techno.

He continued on to produce hard techno, diving into house every once in a while.. and there we have it.. picotto another great italian producer

Mauro is a fucking beast. I've seen him the last two times he's been here in Miami @ Space and let me tell you, he's blow the roof off of it both times. Insane techno guys! OMG can't wait till Wmc, when hopefully he'll be back! And who the fak is saying he's a bad producer?? How many classics does he have under his belt??? I can appreciate most of his productions.

Seen him twice at Global Gathering 04 & 05.

First time at GG04 he opened his set with Pulser 2002 and this year he dropped Lizard near the end of his set and was then followed by Marco V.

Awesome both times.

Supposed to be going to see him and Marco V at Cream on Boxing Day.

IMO, Picotto fucking sucks.

Of course, that's my opinion. That hard, driving, repetitive techno sound annoys that shit out of me. His Iguana, Komodo, Lizard and Back To Cali days were nice, but those are far from over.

I'm a househead. N-o to Pi-cott-o.

I've never seen him DJ, but as a producer he rocks and I've heard nothing but praise for his sets.

i personally can't see him winning a dmc competition...

He's great for his production skills (his compilations were clearly all compiled and not live mixed)

if you want to talk about techno djs.. one should consider looking at dj Preach from montreal

Christ that guy is boring. I honestly do not see what the fuss is all about. Could somebody care to explain?

About Picotto: well, he has done some godawful stuff himself as well(Alchemy 007, anyone?), but still, I rate him far higher.

Oh yeeeaaah ... I saw Mauro live in 2001, in Vienna ... my first trance party ever
I was TEH Mauro fan back then, lol

That was cool.
And it's cool to hear that he's still able to make the whole place completely go nuts
