ewww.. used earplugs!! lol jk,

Think i'm going to invest in a pair this week. Going to go to a local place near me (i live in dublin) And found a supplier on the hearingprotection.co.uk site

Cheers for the link Freak..

I also have a sound system in my car, An SQ system at that but it can still reach pretty loud levels, i'm going to use it as my testing ground

i have had a problem with loud music since i started in the soundsystem game many years ago.

i finally bought some proper earplugs (er -20) and used them for a studio mix so i can get used to using them out in clubs.

i was amazed how good these earplugs are and would recommend anyone to buy a pair... they re like 12 or something!

they maintain sound quality really well.

here is my first mix i did with them.

richard gales earplug mixup (32mins 64kbps) [15 mb]

this was with my own 2000wrms rig beating hard and loud to try and replicate club volumes.

the mixing is reletively tight with only one track going off slightly. im sure it would be unnoticeable in a club tho..

i cant wait to use them out in my next club set!

BUY SOME NOW BEFORE YOUR EARS GET RUINED. WE WILL BE THE DEAF GENERATION IF WE DONT ACT!

have em. they rule. made a thread about em a while back.

question tho: don't they pop out from time to time, when you're messing around, putting your phones on/off?

after last nights gig I'm REALLY wishing I had them. My ears are STILL ringing (and its 12 hours later). The setup was REALLY nice but the volume was way loud. I can't get these soon enough!!!

Thanks for recommending them guys!

i understand what you mean! same happened to me about a month before i started wearing foam plugs.

if your ears ring for twelve hours after than make sure you get some soon..!

your little lug holes are probably begging for some protection!

intertia - i havnt used them in a club mixing yet. i think they should be inserted very deeply and then they shouldnt come out... plus you get the best protection you can from them.

remember your ear canal is about an inch deep so you shouldnt damage anything inserting them quite deeply.

Sadly, I think I'm a little too late as my hearing isn't quite what it used to be but somehow I can still hear music clear as anything.Nem

LOL, tell me about it. I am a machine gunner and been DJing for years, I migth as well be deaf... yet somehow I can hear music. Wierd how that works...

here we go got them on tuesday instead.

you have to get yourself a pair i went into my studio banged the volume to the top and it sounded a bit bassy (with the earplugs in) but it did'nt effect my mixing.TBO though i think they are more for ppl who are in the crowd at a rave then the dj.they are a bit irratating at times PLUS you can lose them very quickly it took me 30mins to find mine again after i put them down in my studio.

but they are good for the price.

one more thing i was pi**ed off today. My dad came back from working in africa at an enginering plant and what did he have in his suitcase YES a pair of these earplugs and he then got them out and said son these are for you since i know you like your music loud.

DAM

and yes they were BRAND NEW OK!!!!!!!!

ill agree with all your points here. they do seam a bit bassy cos they dont lower bass volumes that much compaired to the rest of the spectrum. they are also easy to loose. when you get used to them being around you dont loose them as much tho. i keep the little plastic box/pouch on my keyring so i never loose them.

I'm getting them soon..

i can't wait.

at the same time, i'm getting the Sennheiser HD 280s.

SOOooo excited

both are great to study with^ they block out external noise really well. Heh, I can Imagine wearing both at the same time. I could study in the middle of a club dancefloor.

Hey, does the army allow u to wear the earplugs, out on a mission, or during training...

just curious, becasue i might go for a stint in the army or something, once i graduate.
