My whole thing is about being comfortable in a place. Do whatever you want to and not be bothered by other people.

This means, if you want a drink, you should be able to get one without waiting half an hour. same goes with going to the washroom.

The cover should be between 5 and 10 dollars. Depending on the night.

A perfect club would have lots of bar space and enough bartenders to work the bar space.

A perfect club would have lots of chill area available for the people that wanna sit down especially when it is the beginning of the night when you are just waiting around to get started.

A perfect club has fairly priced drinks. I should not be paying 7.50 for a beer. Mixed drinks - 3.50, shots - 4.00, beer (domestic) - 2.50, (import) - 4.50, wine - 4.00. coolers - 4.50, redbull/vodka - 5.50, double - 7.50 water - 2.50.

The staff has to be polite and for security guards, you aren't even supposed to really notice them. They are there only to protect the customer not to make people feel uncomfortable.

A good club enforces the no smoking rule. It is the best feeling in the world to have a good time and not suffer breathing problems.

A good club should have two rooms. One room for the beginning of the night to warm people up and then a bigger dancefloor room that opens up for the headlining DJ.

The DJ booth should be at eye level to the dancers.

These are just some points that I came up with.

There was an excellent club in Ottawa that closed down that was pretty damn perfect if you ask me. Called Atomic.

So with prices like that how are we supposed to pay for DJs and multimillion dollar sound and lights?

One of the reasons atomic and industry both closed down was because DJs started charging a lot of money and people didnt want to pay the increased cover to offset the cost.

then make sure you vote against the current sitting governments if you have any hope for a change.

A perfect club would not have bars too close to the dance floor. Enough walk space around the dance floor area so ppl can enter and exit from multiple points instead of having to wade through the crowd.

toronto doesnt need another club.

And whatever goes on in another country could never be replicated here.

Our lame ass laws, and uptight people would make sure of that.

Posted by ghetto_fab on Dec-01-2005 21:30:

yeah where eles in canada would you want to see another club open?

Posted by ghetto_fab on Dec-01-2005 21:31:

i wouldnt bother... id open one some place else or have our lame laws changed first.

Posted by ghetto_fab on Dec-01-2005 21:33:

I'm actrually curious on what the laws would be.... because I have no ideas on what they would be

Posted by Aitizaz on Dec-01-2005 23:26:

i think a perfect club should also have a snack bar...surprised no one has mentioned that before. a nice place to sit and enjoy a little something and replenish your strength before you hit the dancefloor again.

Well the archaic liquor laws. Last call at 2. Seperate liquor licences per room/level. the laws that ban happy hour. Etc

Not to mention the communist smoking laws.

All these are things that take away from most people's clubbing experience.

Shock nightclub had this. They also had a bar the length of a football field..

I miss the days of the toronto superclub when people actually went out.

^^wow...how long ago was this?

Posted by ghetto_fab on Dec-02-2005 00:27:

A snack bar would be a good idea with energy bars and things like that

My cousin co-owned Shock and Strickly Fitness nextdoor.

I remember him taking me around, showing me inside when I was just 13. From what I can remember the place was really nice.

He got out of the Shock end of the biz when someone got pushed through a window and then shot a bouncer one night.

That place was crawling with mobsters anyways. Add organized crime to the not so perfect list.
