i gotto admit i didnt check this purely on the basis it looked like everyone was just replying with chat up lines..

overall; the track sounds pleasant to the ears with some nice sounds. the overall track sounds nice and minimal but full at the same time. bass is not nice- very late 90's trance. maybe a longnote bass would work better and add to the 'robert miles' sound you have while remaining sophisticated?

break. those pianos sound really nice. i have tried using a detuned sounding piano before but couldnt place it right in my track.

long break..... im glad because it deserves it.

vocal. not good ruins the track imo.

main part. - nice but needs something else. an improvised powerful string line to give it some emotion. other than that a pleasant listen

rich

Amazing how much attention it gets when the word "girl" is in it
Rightly deserved though, there are way too few female producers.

I don't think I want to add much to small details here and there because I think it has been covered already.

I think this would feel good with more layers. That would deffo get it very uplifting. In the beginning with the arpeg, have two arpegs go together, the first one as you have now, the second one play in synch to the first one but in a twin melody that shifts more and builds that "uplifting" feel.

In the break, try having a solo piano or some synth sound build a melodic line to go with your other synths. Have a different more bassy string line fade in and build more atmosphere.

Just some ideas. Good luck with your music

/Fred

maybe not, but it can make a bunch of horny teenage nerds whore all over a thread that otherwise would've sunken to the bottom of the forum with one or two replies like the rest of them.

horny teen nerds + people who like to point them out to everyone + everyone that love to throw their opinion into everything. lol threads like these are filled with people who a) seek attention, b) love to make fun of them and c) are angry

no, not rightly deserved. trance needs more black people producing as well. you don't see anyone saying "yes, i'm black... anyways here's my track."

in conclusion, this thread is hilarious.

Posted by 4am on Dec-06-2005 01:31:

The 'yes I'm a girl' was started because of another thread where people about shit their pants when they realized I was a chick.

And George Acosta is black and he's a great producer/dj. I'd like to see more black producers too.

Posted by DigiNut on Dec-06-2005 01:53:

Black people don't produce trance because trance isn't funky.

I'm sorry if that sounds "racist" to anyone but tap your PC brakes for a second and think about it: blacks created jazz, funk, soul, and house. The North American black community has always been ingenious at taking the inventions of boring white academic stiffs and turning it into something cool.

I'm not trying to bash trance here, please understand that, but trance is the culmination of "white" music. Straight 4/4 beats with no swing, carefully-crafted structure and sounds based on established formulas, and rigid adherence to Classical (even Baroque) chord progressions and motifs. If there's ever a remix of popular music, it's almost always rock music or emo punk.

Most of the black people *I* have been out with like to dance. They get funky. They don't wave their hands in the air. Again, make whatever inane PC comments you want about how I'm stereotyping but I live in a place with a huge black population (Toronto) and I think I've observed enough to make that call.

This is not to say that there aren't exceptions - of course there are. But you're never going to see a lot of black trance producers, nor are you going to see a large black trance audience. It's just the way it is.

i like it

yeh its good, complex melodie, and a real nice braker. just the stuff. bit of crit though, and dont take it to heart. your delayed reverb could be a little less as to here what old morf is saying. but as you say its not masterd yet. keep it up. how long have u been producing 4? and if u can i'd like it if you could take the time to listen to a track on my site. thanx.

To say white music was boring until black people made it exciting is bullshit. imo trance is far better than house music in terms of its melodic structure and killer kicks which make a crowd react like no other style of music can. ive been to ibiza and went to amnesia to see paul van dyk and the crowd reaction was out of this world. i also saw erik mirillo in cafe mambo and the crowd were just dancing as if they were listening to pop music.

Also its not about the colour of people who make it. at the end of the day black people make some shit music and so do white people. so to try and say that white music was boring until black people made it exciting imo is wrong and racist.

TRANCE WILL NEVER DIE!!!!

3 things...
It's just curiosity... do the sexes have different emotions when it comes to music? (using trance as the "control" object of the experiment seems to be fitting)

Part of the curiosity could stem from the subliminal notion that 90% of all vocals/lyrics in trance and dance music are sung by females. Just my experience - not saying YOU can sing, but female producers carry that sort of aura. Half of trance has a very distinct feminime side to it, that's not just in vocals.

Most software, hardward, musical gear users are "boys with toys". Males are stereotyped as being the pioneers of science, technology, and tools. Now, we've got a bunch of studio-trapped males wondering if the opposite sex can find enjoyment in the same thing. THere's something about mutual enjoyment in a hobby/profession that causes the minds of these "boys with toys" to go for a stroll.

Bah... this is all prolly hogwash... Again, I really enjoyed your work.

Yep, thats it, thanks for solving the problem
