OK, so Christina and I tried to go tonight to the industry opening. One of her friends got us on the list and we both received confirmations of our RSVP, so not being on the guestlist wasn't the issue. We got in line at about 10:30, were at the velvet rope by 11:15 and left at 12:30 when some guy next to us tried to open the rope and let himself in, which prompted the bouncers to kick out the entire line near us. At that point, we didn't really care anymore because she couldn't feel her toes because of the wind coming across the Hudson. They weren't letting anyone in unless you were somebody or knew somebody. Lots of older people were getting in, too (like 40-55 age range). We did see Evander Holyfield, Jamie Lynn Discala (Sopranos), and Christopher Meloni (Law & Order SVU), but never did see the inside of the club.

I know I'm glad I wasn't planning to go this weekend, because it's going to be a fucking zoo. If it was this bad with invite only, just imagine how bad it'll be when it's a free-for-all.

I hope VIP for Cox will be better.
