yeah true.
Good thing it's only a quite short story as afr as fantasy goes so hopefully not too much will be left out.
even with a relatively short novel, any book translated to big screen will inevitably lack the detail and background of the book.
what's good is that the hype over the movie will introduce people to the series and the marvellous works of CS Lewis.
i always have hope for the big epic films. if & when done properly they can be really really good. imo LOTR finally dragged fantasy back into the mainstream, and did it for ADULTS *looks at lucas and frowns*
luckily i cant remember shit about the narnia books so i shouldnt be judging the film too harshly.
and as a side note, harry potter sucks big dick.
Rand Al'Thor owns u all.
a thread to give my montly post to
this will be awesome! i can't wait
I remember they made one ages ago, but nothing compares to the book!
damn this brings back alot of childhood memories, reminds me of my innocence before I discovered electronic music. Its pretty much been a downward spiral from there.
There was a series of LW&W?!?!
I must've had a sheltered childhood.
I felt that some of the Harry Potter films were quite good, despite some pretty horrible acting. Namely the first one... and the new one (but only because it had Cassanova in it). Having said that I've never read the Harry Potter books, and I never intend to.
(Up to A Song Of Fire and Ice: Book 2 now eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee)
w00t not long to go!
Actually I do remember seeing a series of the lion witch and the wardrobe.. on abc or something aaaaaaaaaaages ago. It wasn't too bad I thought.
I'm almost convinced to see this film completely based on all of the religious uproar it's caused lol.
Just came back from seeing this movie this afternoon. Was fairly impressed, have never read the books so didnt know what to expect but found this movie to be pretty enjoyable. Once it gets going it holds your interest the entire way through and the special effects are very cool. Worth the price of admission.
i saw this on sunday night.. i quite enjoyed it.. def more of a kids film though. visual effects were amazing, espeically the detail on the animal characters...
i think i read the books when i was younger.. the first one at least. for the record my fav fantasy series are the books by Raymond E Fiest
(magician, riftwar/serpent war series etc)
CANT WAIT to watch it!
I liked it, but i think my expectations were are a little high tbh.

saw this yesterday. mixed feelings about this one.
great to see it on the big screen after all these years. From what i can remember I liked the BBC series better. I found the child actors in the big screen version a little flat, and though the movie was quite long it seemed rushed. i think i need to read the books again to determine exactly what was left out or modified.
I really disliked the Narnia books when I was young. Interested to see the film though, although slightly worried that the kid actors will be somewhat unbearable.
Just noticed ur sig Baby700, lmao!! i must be jaded!
im seeing it tonight in gold class. i know i wont be a fan so i may aswell drink wine to get through it

was a bit corny, i found myself looking across the cinema to see if ppl had the same reaction!...(but what else can u expect??)
my fav bit is where they bring in the nachos!! yummmm
you would be surprised how many people leave the cinema when the credits start and miss the little extra bit about 20 secs into the credits.
might see it if i get time, looks the goods
