How can you hate my taste in music? You have no idea what I listen too.

Why is it the end of the discussion? Because you typed it in font size 4, and added bold tags? Yes, you win the discussion!

Mylo FTW. Best EM of the year.

2 Talents

Digweed's EM was pretty good too. I have also downloaded Tom Middleton's EM but I haven't heard it yet.My expectations are high for this...

I agree with Digweed @ Global Gathering and Middleton's Star Wars set.

I also like the Evil 9 one, too

Still need to hear the Circo Loco one.

Ive only heard Digweed and Sasha Essential Mixes this year, never check radio 1 website anymore. Of the two I liked Sasha's show of what Albeton could do, the mashup of that gorillaz song was so unexpected.

Tom Middleton and evil nine's were my faves this year

IMO best were Sasha's, Digweed's and Ben Watt's

I'd agree. Evil 9's set was pretty typical for them. Just listen to Y4K and You Can Be Special, Too and you've got half of the set right there.

Eric Prydz's!

I loved Jon o Bir's EM from January

**runs from the prog whores**

most of the votes in this thread have gone to digweeds global gathering set...i mst admit..i didnt really find anything special about that set...was just wondering y it has managed to draw so many votes!!!

Posted by mndeg on Dec-10-2005 07:02:

didnt know there was a ben watt essential mix
sweet

gonna say joey negro since he hasn't been mentioned yet
and joey negro is awesome

So i feel really stupid, but are there weekly essential mixes or something? I only have heard like three this whole year. I mean, are there really a +lot+ of these Essential Mixes to choose from?

Posted by SpecRadio on Dec-10-2005 08:46:

IE.MERG & C2C

The DMC mixes show so much more talent than the EDM DJ's. You can listen to like DJ lane over at party 107 and he'll give you a Essential mix every day/week w/e. EDM essential mixes aren't necessary .

And IE.MERG won the DMC 2004 Champ - But he still plays some pretty damn nice EDM in that set. C2C is DMC 2004 Winner turntablism team. They play some good stuff, mostly jazzy with lots of turntablism.

Richie Hawtin/Ricardo Villalobos
Tania Vulcano/Loco Dice
Tom Neville
M.A.N.D.Y
