I saw IT for the first time when I was like 12 or so at a friends house. I kept laughing and my friends dad walked into the living room to say stop laughing that's disrespectful

Hmmm.. I still have to see a movie that genuinely scares me, but The Ring 1 had its moments, and I remember My Little Eye having a few good scenes as well.

Oh, and Crossroads of course.

The Descent
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0435625/

One of the best movies of 2005 and probably one of the most scary movies ever. It's about 6 hot chicks that go on a cave expedition and things go horribly wrong. It scared the crap out of me! All my friends that saw it (most of them being horror lovers) all say the same. Some of them couldn't even sleep after seeing it. It's from the same British director as Dog Soldiers. While DS was fun and entertaining, The Descent is horrifying and claustrophobic. It's also put together very very well.

Other than that, the only other movie that ever scared the hell out of me, is Blair Witch Project.

Cabin Fever scared me...

It scared me because of the hour and a half I wasted watching this shit film. In fact, it made me feel like I was watching it for 5 straight hours. Worse movie ever.

Phantasm

Tagline: If this one doesn't scare you, you're already dead! (more)

wicked soundtrack, too.

cabin fever is indeed awful.. if you wish to scare someone, get Demons 2, the italian movie., it's not very good. but very gory, and it might easily disturb many.

Motorcycle Diaries

euh I mean Mothman Prophecies (with Richard Gere and that hot chick from Will & Grace/Along Came Polly)

She'll never be the same again. Muhah!

I'll agree with House of 1000 Corpses as being up there on the disturbing scale. After a bit, though, I just got used to how fucked up it was. Rob Zombie's got a twisted mind.

I think the scariest movies are

Amityville Horror &
Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Both based on true stories, I think that's what makes them scarier.

Posted by eROs.au on Dec-13-2005 14:51:

SAW was a great movie
