Ive seen great sets before by some djs, but have only really been completely satisfied and in awe (where I couldnt stop talking about it on & on) with only a few sets ive witnessed.

Jeff Mills @ Metro 2004 - WOW! What a legend, the music, the atmosphere was bloody sensational. Had so much fun. Glad I got to meet him!

Armin @ Summadayze 2005 - the only highlight of the day/night! (missed out on him playing at qbh, had a bloody wedding).

Carl Cox @ Room 2005 - Fanfkntastic night! Will definetely go see him play in Feb next year

Kai Tracid @ Digital Electronic Music Festival- April 2005 - So glad I got to see Kai play & got to take pics with him too (best good looking dj).

Hellraiser @ Digital If you like the harder stuff you would've loved it! Best set that Ive heard him play!

Yoji Biomehanika @ Metro 2005 - second half of his set had me in awe! Loved it! He is crazy & one helluva entertainer....funny & wacky dude up close!

Dj Scot Project @ Pharmacy November 2005 - absolutely loved it! Got pics with him too

Sasha @ QBH - second half of his set was crazzzzy!

the novelty value of that ice cream truck melody got tired after awhile i guess...

lol that was 'chris' that said that ice cream truck / japanese video game thing, wasn't it? ahh, it's all fitting together now LOL glad i kept my mouth shut for once...

anyways hmm.

#1 - Mark Spoon playing his birthday party in Toronto with Jon the Dentist in '95 (tight techy and melodic and a venue so bizarre the centrepiece was a fountain filled with evian)
#2 - 2Unlimited in a scary abandoned office building in Toronto in '92 (the day the letters w t and f were invented - tour had been sorted and venues booked before anyone had heard of them, but by the time they came into town they were HUGE... how the floor didn't collapse is beyond me)
#3 - Jon Marsh (4hrs) into Sasha (6+ hrs) at Fabric in '04. (jade removal ointment with a side of real vinyl)
#4 - AVB @ Summafielddayze Gold Coast Jan '05

for me there's always been heaps of fantastic music - it's the vibe that makes the party. for all four of these sets, there was a palpable sense of 'this is something special' in the air, where by the end of the first hour you knew all the people around you by name because

a) you'd turned to them and said 'wtf is this?!' in wonder only to find them doing the same to you

and

b) you were pressed up against them anyways

the first two were seminal in terms of fertilising my passion for dance music; the latter two convinced me that there's still plenty of life in dance music, and that a decent DJ embraces every genre and focuses not on showing off his uber-elite library, but on crafting the soundtrack to an amazing party.

^^^ btw that was Mark Spoon from Jam & Spoon. Of 'Age of Love - Age of Love' (Jam & Spoon's Watch Out for Stella Mix) as featured on Rennaisance the Mix Collection CD3

dude, dont worry what people say

I didnt know this was a 'lets criticize' topic.
How typical! :O
lol

Half the people on this site probably cant stand some of the djs & music i like........its ok, coz I think some of the stuff they like is shithouse too But then again, I dont go bagging them! (unless i really feel the need-special circumstances) hahaha.

who cares.............
Aslong as you like the music, it doesn't matter what other people think!

everyone is entitled to their opinion. just that sometimes your opinion is wrong, whereas mine remains right.
