I just got into partyin a couple months ago but so far i have seen....

Paul Van Dyk
Gabriel & Dresden
Markus Schulz

--Out of all those parties Markus Schulz tore the house down at Spirit. Absolutely amazing.

Off topic (im sorry guys) What would you rate M.I.K.E. live?Ive been dyin to see him but never got around to it. Also whatd you guys think of Oakenfold?Im goin to see him NYE at Avalon and want to know if the seventy-five dollar tickets are worth it?Sandra Collins is opening and closing from what i understand but i can be very wrong.

Hmm, this year I have seen the likes of:

Tiesto @The Docks in June
Armin Van Buuren 3 times
Blank and Jones @Labour of Love
Above and Beyond in July
Marcel Woods @Viva a few weeks ago
Infected Mushroom
Carl Cox @Guvernment

Only ones who really murdered their sets were Blank and Jones as well as Above and Beyond.

Best Song of 2005 by far: Markus' Without You Near-->Just can't get sick of this song.

I wouldn't pay 25 to Oakenfold anymore. Maybe 6 years ago I wouldn't even give it a second thought, but spend your money on better things.

Nick Warren - the club was overcrowded, i didn't quite like the music

Luke Fair - Really focused on mixing, not interacting with the crowd that much but still he totaly rocked, amazing party, too little people tho (but just a bit)

James Zabiela - Absolutely rocked the place, and i was totaly sober, great guy

Desyn Masiello - Another great party, he played a lot of his essential mixes tunes, great guy, really fun to talk to

Dany Howells - spinning on a beach+ great weather+ great place+ amazing music+ great people+ great man+ great interaction+ great afterparty on a beach = the party of my life

Anthony Pappa - terrific technician, i liked the music, and a really nice man

Desyn Masiello (again) this time not so good - definately his off night

Sander Klinenberg - Nice ! i had a great time, nice interaction, but left early, i had no time to talk to him

Jonathan Lisle - Amazing Technicaly (plays on 6 decks !!) great tunes, amazing party, very cool guy, cares enough about the people he talks to, he always asks their name, very polite and down to earth, crazy partier (he even wanted go to an afterparty with the ppl who stayed till the end, which didn't happen cause of the party that was the next day), he said this (poland) was his fav place to play

Yunus Guvnen - it was the day after Lisle and i was preety sick that day, still i enjoyed his really hard but cool music. Nice guy, nice interaction

+ countless local DJs

prospects for the begining of next year : Meat Katie, Adam Freeland and Nic Fanciulli Bitchez!!!!

Posted by slinkyhead on Dec-19-2005 20:30:

has been a pretty good clubbing year. Been to slinky probably once or twice a month, got to Global Gathering and the highlight was Dance Valley, Paul van Dyk finishing on the main stage was awesome.

Too many djs to mention but one's that stood out.

Paul van Dyk
Sander van Doorn
Randy Katana
Adam Sheridan
Eddie Halliwell
Les Hemstock
Graham Gold
Pete Tong
Pendulum
Infected Mushroom
Hybrid
Desyn Masimillo
Dave Clarke

poorer peformances

Tiesto wasnt up to much at Global
Reece Elliot: more train wrecks at Wildchild
Above and Beyond: too much girly vocals, appauling live performance at Global
A whole load of Hardcore djs i had the misfortune to see
a fair load of trance mediocracy

After his Renaissance I'm really itchin for Fanciulli to come back to T.O...hopefully he doesn't spin at Guvernment like last time.

As for my Clubbing Parties of the Year:

Sasha & Steve Lawler Back-to-Back on Skybar Patio in June, early sunday morning

and

Danny Howells at Surfspot Beach Club, Poland

2 of the most surreal experiences I've ever had. These 2 were more than just parties.

Other worthy mentions though:
Demi's marathon Anniversary set at Boa-Redux in March (
Danny Tenaglia marathon set at the Docks
Steve Lawler Lights Out 3 release party in October, with a special invite-only afterparty set at 7am in a small, intimate room.
...and probably the best one from all these goes to Demi's recent set at System.

ok i can't believe i forgot sander on my list...he was really good...we had a blast...

and i guess technically we were there for Above & Beyond, but we left after nic fanciuli's set

Posted by lcid on Dec-19-2005 21:09:

this year i've seen...

Gabriel & Dresden (twice)
Eddie Halliwell
James Holden
Luke Fair
Armin Van Buuren
Ferry Corsten
Paul Oakenfold
Hernan Cattaneo
Sharam from Deep Dish
Junkie XL
Kenneth Thomas
Lee Burridge
Above & Beyond
Second Sun
Matthew Dekay
Chus & Ceballos
Steve Lawler

and probably more but i can't remember... my top nights were as follows:

1. Paul Oakenfold, Hernan Cattaneo, & Sharam @ The Rave, Milwaukee - for the atmosphere and the nights events, alone. The Rave is typically a terrible venue with terrible sound, and when we walked in i was shocked... i think the first thing i said was "this is NOT Milwaukee!" heh... i have never seen such an insane and pumped up crowd in Milwaukee for a show like that. everything about this night was perfect, even if Oakey wrecked a few times, lol.

2. Lee Burridge & Mazi @ Vision (and afters), Chicago - Mazi is always great and it was my first time seeing Lee... his set @ Vision was great but his set at afters was just FILTHY!!

3. Matthew Dekay and Chus & Ceballos @ Vision, Chicago - this show made me into a huuuuuuge Dekay fan.

4. Rob Turner, Tyler C, & DJ Lucas @ The Encore, Stevens Point - i didn't include these guys on my list since i was trying to just focus on "big-name" DJs that everyone knows... but this was an amazing night as well, and i love the MWTA DJs!

John Askew - Adelaide
John 00 Flemming - Reanimator
Agnelli and Nelson - Ekka Show Holiday
Above and Beyond - Godskitchen
BT - Godskitchen

M.I.K.E - Gatecrasher
John O Callaghan - Gatecrasher
Yoji Biohenanika (doesn't count :P) - Transmission

we do get acts in brisbane... but we don't have an appreciattive crowd... I only saw about 2 thirds of who was out in brissy though...

Had a fantastic year, lets have more of the same next year please

Posted by Gumptard on Dec-20-2005 10:53:

Started the year @ the MEN Arena for Godskitchen v Goodgreef;

Jon O'Bir, Adam Sheridan, Riley & Durrant, Marco V, Paul van Dyk, Judge Jules, Eddie Halliwell, Fergie, Above & Beyond, Lab4, Tidy Boys, Alex Kidd & more...

Excellent night in an excellent venue...hope they use it again for a trance night in the future. Adam Sheridan was class as ever, Alex Kidd droppped Marco V's bootleg of RHCP's By The Way Marco V blew the roof off with Automanual and a remix of Tainted Love. PvD dropped For An Angel and Jules played two of my favourite songs this year: Without You and Darkside of the Moon. Quality night 9/10

Goodgreef Trance Masters @ Manchester Academy;

Agnelli & Nelson, Adam Sheridan, Scot Project, Matt Hardwick & more...

Strong classics line-up, A&N were the highlight for me, finishing on Everyday. Was surprised how good Matt Hardwick was as well. 8/10

Godskitchen Global Gathering 2005;

(I saw)
Marco V, Mauro Picotto, Happy Mondays, Ferry Corsten, Paul van Dyk, Above & Beyond, Nic Fanciulli, James Zabiela, Valentino Kanzyani, Markus Schulz, Clint Boon, Carl Cox, Armin & more...

The best two days of my life Marco V and Mauro were the standouts for me. 10/10

Creamfields;

(I saw)
Basement Jaxx, Fatboy Slim, Armin, Paul van Dyk, Eddie Halliwell, Nu NRG, Paul Oakenfold, Layo & Bushwacka!

Not bad but it was never going to be anywhere near as good as GGG...it was in Liverslum, it was never gonna be! PvD was the standout. 6/10

Above & Beyond @ Tangled, Manchester

Jesus Christ what a night! 10/10

Posted by jdat on Dec-22-2005 13:26:

Righ now I'm living in an area pretty much far from everything so didn't see that much at all compared to the usual.

Sander K + Astro & Glyde Nyc Crobar 1st of january my last night in New York before I left the country

Otherwise this was mostly in Zurich in Switzerland:
Mazi
Nukem ( resident over there so I saw him several times )
John Digweed
James Holden
Nathan Fake
The Glimmers
Felix da Housecat
Telepopmusik ( live act and wow it blew my mind! )
Pete Heller ( whom I wnated to see for a veryyyyyyy long time )
Steve Lawler
Roger Sanchez
Hernan Cattaneo
Eric Prydz
Jeff Bennett ( much respect for this long time producer )

I think that's pretty much it.

All in all a quality year and didn't over party by any means. Could have partied more but going out in Switzerland is a wee bit expensive and I'm usually lazy to go out these days.

Years favorite would have to be between Astro & Glyde opening for Sander K ( east coast openers do it better then anyone else ! ). Really liked the other nights but they didn't affect me that much and I had already seen several of these djs in the past already.

Ps: I did pretty much all these parties solo.

Looking forward to seeing Carl Craig Derrick May and Layo & Bushwacka in january.
