Recording...
I posted info on how to record this onto ONE DAT over a month ago in this forum. It involved going to http://www.tape.com/ and getting the 150 metre DDS tapes (these work fine for Audio DAT recorders) and recording at 32 khz Sampling Rate in LP mode if you have a SONY unit (this won't work with any other brand as other's don't support the Long Play mode @ 32 khz). One Metre of tape is 2 minutes, and 32 khz, LP recording mode is double the time so, 150 metres times 2 = 300 minutes when recording standard, times 2 for LP, 32 khz mode. This will get you 10 hours recording time, enough for the whole 9 hour set. Here's the breakdown: buy 1 150 metre- DAT. 150 metres = 300 Standard Minutes. 300 Standard minutes = 600 SONY LP @ 32 khz minutes. THAT'S the way to go! Good luck! Since FM radio's frequency limit is 15.5 khz, 32 khz sampling rate's just fine (highest freq. response @ 32 khz sampling rate is 16 khz, which will cover the entire FM band). If noone's broadcasting the whole set, then someone will just have to go there and record it directly. I wish I were there! I would've already had my tickets as soon as I heard of it!!! See you later, everyone!!!
update:
go to www.radio538.nl and click on "programma's" then search for van diepens dance department. in the smaller pop up window you can find then that the will broadcasted!!! so i will record it from radio into my pc... but i don't know if the quality will be good or bad... i never did it before. i also don't have at DAT recorder, soooo if anyone is able to record it from radio 538, the 2nd of February, please do it and share it over here!!
i also saw at the van diepens dance department, that tiesto will be guest in his show for 4 hrs, on the 23rd of February...
i think that one is also worth recording....

Ben Shaw - So strong (Original)
This tune was made to begin 9 hour setz !!
Nine hours of Tiesto???
wonder what round trip Seattle to amsterdam $ ???? How do say VISA!!!!!Figure out how to pay for it later. Very , Very Tempting
There ARE ways to record directly to mp3 (Windows Media Encoder is one of them). That way you won't run out of space. Also, your hard disk could crash after writing all that data for nine hours straight.
My advice:
1. Look up how to do it
2. Test it out successfully for an hour nonstop before the broadcast
3. Away you go.
Cheers

i downloaded Windows Media Encoder but i don't really get the prog, i can't seem to get it recording (i plugged my radio on my comp), and i can only dave in *.wma ?? .. are there other good recorders you know because this isn't working for me..
I'm assuming this is a webcast. Can't REal Jukebox or Windows Media Player save the webcast directly as an MP3? I think it can? On the other hand, If it was on normal radio, u could usa a Phono to 3.5" cable, connect that to your hi fi, to the line-in port on your soundcard and use Real Jukebox to record from a line in input.
A WMA file is a Windows Media Apllication, so I thinkit can only be played on Windows media player.
I wish I could be there myself! Then I wont need to download 9hrs of music with my shit connection.

People, you are not going to believe this:
It's gonna be broadcasted for 7 hours!!!
It's on Van diepen's dance dept. from 23.00 untill 06.00 (dutch time) That's the master 7 hours on the air!
This is gonna rock. First going to the party itself, and then downloading that huge mp3 file
grtz,
TNG
I'M GOING AS WELL
