Right... your point is, what? The track would still be popular WHOEVER remixed it, or didn't remix it, or produced it, or whatever you like. It was by Madonna. It would have been a big hit ************. That they chose to use that mix is pretty much irrelevant.

And again, who said anything about commerciality? STOP PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH.

the Alone Tonight dub mix will rock your world :P

seriously? it made quite a buzz a few years when it was revealed that Madonna personally chose Above & Beyond to do video version of What it feels like for a girl. Later in an interview A&B said that the best thing with doing the remix was not the fact that they were asked but to have her vocals on the original DAT specially done for them.

Hang on... if it's the standard video mix, I have heard it (on MTV, natch). Can't say I rated it. But really, I've never heard it when "trance classic" threads are thrown around.

haha it's not a classic. and i doubt it will become one even in 5 years. but still it's one of the better productions the guys done.

my expectations for the Above & Beyond album are quite low, but at the very least it has to be better than AvB's Shivers.

Why is everyone bad-mothing the Madonna A&B remix? I tend to ignore the vocals and just listen to whats around them.

if you think A & B is cheese, then you better listening to Johan Gielen, Dave 202 & Phil Green, Ron van den Beuken etc., they are making quality non-cheese uplifting trance music recently.

good luck man

I wasn't bad-mouthing it: I only heard it on the music video through TV speakers at normal TV volume, so I can't especially judge, but it didn't leap out at me as anything other than a vaguely trancey Madonna track, rather than some sort of quantum leap like certain people are hinting towards.

And before idiots come down on me like a ton of shit, I'm not calling A&B's sound crap (although personally I don't like it much, not after five years of it), but even the most ardent A&B fan must admit that they've only done one type of tune in their career.

Yeah ok then, for me anjunabeats has had the most diverse catalogue of releases this year, arksun / luminary to the likes of david west - larry mountains and hawk - need for cognition. If you really want to talk about a label having releases that all sound the same just look at armada (both marcus schulz and AVB)

I don't know what to say to that, to be honest. I've heard a fair bit of Anjuna this year, and they really do seem to be a one tune label. When I reviewed Anjunabeats Volume 3, I seriously had trouble telling tracks apart on the mix.

it'll probably be a cheesfest
