I was wavering on that idea, but I decided against it. Here's why:

I polled everyone who is on this list, and most people will be using yousendit type services, therefore making the link inactive after a week (or less). I've also implemented a few ideas to make that not such a bad thing...

- I will be closing the thread when I post the new one so as to let it fall by the way side.

- I will also be linking the previous thread(s) each week, along with listing the sets that have been posted in those weeks.

- After we have run through the batting order once (in April or May sometime), I'll post a one week recap thread where all of the sets are hosted again.

With these ideas, there's only one thread on the main page, and they all fall deeper down as the hours pass. Also, each thread is accessible from the current thread, adn you will know which one to access because its sets will be listed. The yousendit-hosted sets will be brought back to life after each round.

I know I can't please everyone here, but I'm trying my best, and to do that I think I just need to avoid upsetting as many people as I can.

fair enough, as long as there isn't like 50 of these threads on the front page, then it should keep most people happy.

Joes set is killer. Saw him open for MO at the Warehouse in May, he tore it up then too.

Nice...I'm sure he'll read this soon enough. He spins at Utopia every Friday night.

Steve Lawler part 2 isn't available.

Posted by DigitalMP on Dec-29-2005 15:25:

It's pretty funny you say that, because every time something is on my mind and I'm planning on posting it, someone comments on it

I'm also going to institute that each weekly member, if using a service such as yousendit or megaupload, check later in the week to assure the set is still accessible (at least through Sunday). If the set's link is no longer active, then I'll ask that you please upload it again. I will do just that with both parts of the Lawler set tonight, since I would imagine that the first part is not too far behind.

Any spotters have luck finishing that Lawler tracklist?

Or how about the first person/people that DL the set re-up it and when the first link dies, they post their link?

Just a thought

And what about Extended sets? Say I have a 7 hour set that I wanna upload? Do I have to split it up and upload all of it?

edit: and those lawler sets aren't working...keeps timing out

Posted by DigitalMP on Dec-30-2005 18:03:

Well, since each person only posts every 3 months, I figured I'd put it on them. If they don't, I won't press. I guess enough people would complain to the point that someone might upload it.

Nah...I don't think it's necessary to break up a set. I think the big files have more of a issue with a steady upload rather than download, so no big deal there.

Im a pretty big fan of the first lawler set listed, mainly because he covers both the old style tribal lawler and the newer grind it out dancey electro all within one hour. I love his new style but Lawlers tribal sound was one that I have not found duplicated, and would miss a lot if he totally dropped it.

He does a pretty wicked job editing(LIVE)lower east side - sword fight. Very nice work with the CDJ's as well as the EFX to create a unique buildup / breakdown. The loop cutting feature can do some really amazing things while at the same time can be a little unpredictable each time you cut it down more (in regards to what sound you will hear next)
Ive seemed to notice him playing around a lot live with the tracks he has really hammered this past year, in this case sword fight as well as wipe those tears away. He played with it the same way when he played in guv in june. (wipe those tears away) That track suprisingly only caught on with a few djs, and is still getting hammered on -- i definately thought it would be one of THE tracks of the year, well I guess it was at least for me LOL.

Thanks for the props in your earlier post RJ.
