lol... i was never worried. The elevator at my apratment does the same thing.. pieces of crap..
NOTE TO EVERYONE.. AVOID THE LEFT ELEVATOR!
MY FIRST TIME AT VIVA
I don't even know where to begin
Guess I'll start by saying that TOTA's; YOU GUYS FUCKING ROCK! Fuck I miss partying in this city! I met sooooo many of you, and the best part was when I walked into the pool hall, everyone was so friendly to a new face! It's amazing how music can bring so many cool people together
When I first met Andy at the bar, I asked him to sign my original copy of Cloudwalking... and get this.... I told him that I've been to ahundred parties and met a hundred DJ's, and he was the FIRST Dj I've ever asked to get an autograph from. I told him that Cloudwalking is the one track that has the most significance to me, it's the most beautiful song I've ever heard and it's involement of getting me into trance in general has really impacted my life...
He was speechless! It felt great to know that Andy was so appreciative to hear those words from one of his fans... I swear he started to blush
We talked more, he gave me some promo vinyls and all around a wikkid dude... too bad Danny and I had to kick his ass at pool though
So to the party. I never been to Viva before. What a great club. from the lighting, to set-up, to the overall vibe through the place. Truly a wikkid club. I was talking to the owner of the club and I was telling him how his club compared to the clubs in Vancouver. He was blown away by how different things are. Did you know that there's NOT 1 CLUB in Vancouver that has a laser!!!
I told him how I threw parties out in the west and he openly invited me to throw a party in his club on a Saturday night... Now that's management people. get to know your crowd, who your dealing with and what they can do for you as well as what you can do for them!
Caught the end of Tygon and Chiklet's set. Hard bangin tracks, really got the energy going for me.
Drag'nfly. pretty good, heard better, but whatever. Last track he played had an AMAZING HOOK!!! Derb - Coole Sau (Isaac remix I believe)
Mike (Elevation) good set man! enjoyed it, great warm up for Pulser!!! What mix of Love Theme Dusk did he play anyway?
Pulser... OMG Pulser! Shit man, what a wikkid fucking set. As someone said, Bomb after Bomb! Highlights of the set were... THE WHOEL GODDAMN THING!!!
Seriously awesome tracks though;
Pulser - Point of Impact (Mike Koglin Remix) <-- you may have seen me absolutely busting a nut in the booth when Andy dropped this
into; Cosmic Gate feat. Jan Johnston - I Feel Wonderful (12 Inch Mix)
into; Push - Strange World 2006 <-- Andy said he HATES this track.. I asked him why the hell he played it then
Purple Haze - Adrenaline
Purple Haze - Eden <-- HOLY CHOON BATMAN!!!
Pulser - Cloudwalking 2005
Pulser - My Religion
Mark Oliver, wasn't expecting to hear him, but loved the beats man! I was going crazy on the floor when he dropped Brian Cross - 4U. Nada Grabbed me and shoved me inthe middle of the floor where I proceeded to Pound it! Nice to hear Synergy - Hello Strings (Flash Brothers Remix) too.
This review can go on forever. I'm still totally beat and don't know how I'm gonna survive DuMonde tonight
The last thing I want to say is, as stated before... TOTA's... You made me whole night worth while! Just to know I can have a beer with you, or tear up a piece of the dancefloor YOU GUYS FUCKING ROCK!
P.S. Can the TOTA women beee any finer?!?!? That dancefloor reeked of hotness. Keep those booties shakin girls

Oh yeah, and something kinda funny;
I told Andy that I named my cat Pulser! He wants me to email him a pic of him to put on his website.
That was the Signalrunners Sunrise Mix of Love Theme Dusk
Started off the night by going to the pre-party at the pool hall. That was fun. It was really nice chatting it up with peeps in a non-club setting.
Headed home to get ready and get some shut-eye. Arrived at the club around 12:30 but had to wait outside for like 15 minutes.... because they weren't letting people in.
Once inside I headed straight to the bar (because that's where most of the TA's were).
Elevation played a really nice set. I found myself on the dance floor in no time after he started. Pulser was
.
Shoutouts to everyone I met at the pre-party and at Viva, including a surprising visit by Tordan!
Round 2 tonight.

I wanted to come out to viva tonight but it was a last minute decision and I don't have a ride
I hope everyone has a good time!
Happy New Year everyone
what an amazing weekend at VIVA. w0w. simply a memory of lifetime
Pulser dropping My Religion and starnge world, Filo & Peri dropping the flashover remix of Fire. it sounds sooo fawking good in a club. Signum's bootleg of Sting
mojado - senorita, purple haze - adrenaline, marcel woods - cherry blossom, hammer & bennet - language, luminary - wasting, and lotsa lotsa IDs
omg that indeed was a fantastic weekend.
the most fun time of the weekend was just spending the countdown of new years with some of the best djs/producers. fun times indeed
if any of you missed it, yall missed out on party that happpens not to often. so nice of Pulser and Elevation to stick around for the new years and spend it with us. Kenneth Thomas, Filo & Peri and Signum, you guys were fantastic last night.
This guy from Zoetermeer by the name of Pascal Minnaard and the way he gets involved in his set and the way he gets crowd going is something to see. he totally reminded me of Steve Helstrip behind the decks or Dumonde. so concentrated to what he is doing but yet so full of energy and really putting on a good vibe.
Thankyou all very much for everything. All the TAs that were there for day 1 and 2 THANKYOU all very much. You guys make everything well worth it. Huge props to everyone at Paradigm for all the hard work and making this weekend happen. you guys roxX
Untill next time ...

I had the most amazing time and possibly heard the best sets of this year.Mr.Kenneth Thomas blew my mindaway with his set,I just couldnt get enough of it
He NEEDS TO COME BACK again. It was nice talking to you Kenneth and thanks for playing the best trance set ever.
So the night got even better when Signum came on.Again another unbelieveble set. It was hard not move with those beats even though I was working but I managed to move around just a little bit
.
It was a great new year party and Iam glad I had to work at Viva last night.
Thanks to eveyone who came and see you all soon.

got there at aroudn 2.30 for day 2 since i was downtown for the countdown.
came in hearing the amazing sounds of kenneth. man u seriously dropped some sick beats that had me moving the whole time. tracking treasure down was the highlight of the night for me and i sang all the lyrics whcih was amzing cuz KT was doing it too.
signum came on with a hard set whcih was different for me. kept me moving with some familiar hard beats. he played timelord which was the higlight from his set.
too bad not a lot of ppl came to support this. good night overall.
thx again to paradigm for bringing all this talent on NYE
Hey didnt have time before i left for Montreal to post about day one so here it goes
Had a wicked time a the pre party lots of drinks with friends and once we took control over the music that was good too
Got to the club about 11 because we had to drive Elevation there showed him where to go then straight to the bar for more drinks sat around and chatted with most of the TAs then about 1:30 started to get in the mood to dance. | Originally posted by VERTiG0 Pulser. Mr. Andy Perring. Holy shit! His set was nothing but bombs all around. But of course, nothing, NOTHING could match when he dropped My Religion. Nada and I lost it when the bassline was kickin' in. The crowd was going completely fucking wild and the energy was great to keep us sober shitheads going. |
That is fucking EXCELLENT.
Round #2
Another great night!
Arrived at the club at roughly 1am because I fell asleep on the couch while watching the hockey game.
I missed the countdown as well (that's 2 years in a row). LOL Oh well...
No issues getting in this time. The place was kinda empty - but the music was top notch!
KT and Filo & Peri each spun great sets. But I was there to see Signum.
Pascal threw down an amazing set.
He kept me moving on a half-empty dance floor the entire time! The only disappointment was that he did not drop Push Through. I knew I should've requested it when I was speaking to him earlier in the night.
I was disappointed with the really small TA turnout, but oh well. There were so many things going on this weekend.
Funniest moment of the night was when this Asian fellow kept chasing (literally) Filo's gf (Martina?) all over the dance floor. She would move away, and he'd follow her. This went on for the better part of Signum's set.
Shoutouts to Aaron, Alex, Navid, Tyler and Paula. Also, it was a pleasure meeting Pascal, Charlotte, Mike and Kelly. It was also nice to finally meet Jay.
See you all sometime in '06.

friday was probley the best time ive ever had at viva
elevation, u rock man, set of the night, i wish more dj's spun that style of trance.
pulser and mark were really good too, didnt care too much for dragonfly, too hard too early.
nice seeing everyone tear up the dancefloor, u guys know who u are
That picture is pure awesomeness!
Aaron it was a pleasure meeting you! You really are a great host
Signum kept it pumping from start to finish! I haven't danced that hard in awhile.
Alright so I posted a day one review, I'll now post my day 2 and overall review -- First off.. Aaron, straight out, THANK YOU for everything .. you were there to make us feel at home and comfortable and honestly I don't think I've ever had a better clubbing experience in my life. I could only stay till 3:00 sadly, due to an early curfew (stayed pretty much the whole night the night before) -- ahhh just a little bit longer till I'm finished with those!
Anyways while I missed Signum's set, I was there for whoever was DJing before Aaron for a little while (Kutz I assume?) and Aaron's set -- from what I heard it was pretty nice, and Aaron, I don't care if you weren't prepared -- your set was a damn nice warmup, showed me how exhausted I was from the night before though, I could barely move
Got to meet everyone, spoke to Mikey again and got a chance to speak to Andy (didn't have a chance the night before) -- great people, both of them as well as Filo, Peri, Kenneth Thomas and Pascal from Signum. Filo & Peri's set was damn nice to start things off with, got a little chat in with them, nice guys, was clear they were having fun
Then it was onto KT, and holy crap, as Aaron said, I've NEVER in my life seen someone even 1/2 as energetic behind turntables as he is. The guy was jumping around while picking cds from his cd case before going on, and sat down explaining to me how he organizes his cds (some damn nice classics in his case
) While playing he was even more energetic, singing to the songs, dancing and jumping around, the guy lives for this life! Great set, sadly I had to leave in the middle of it, but I definitely enjoyed it.
All around I had an amazing time both nights - as I said, probably the best clubbing experience and possibly best nights I've ever had. Thank you again Aaron for everything, doubt I would have had half as much fun as I did (especially the second night) had you not arranged things the way you did! So thank you, and thank you Paradigm, and all the DJs that came out, all amazing people and damn nice sets. Hope to see all of them back!
-Tom
P.S. For the record, while I did enjoy Pulser's set on day one, I have to agree with Pettiscool -- Elevation's set was my favourite, I also wish more people played that kind of trance in the clubs
It was weird to hear kenneth thomas play trance. I like him better as a prog house dj. But technically he still played very well.
