to be honest puma is overplayed and very mediocre, cassiopiea is a lot better imo

Posted by trancedanne on Jan-20-2006 18:56:

cassiopiea is a really beautiful tune, reminds me of 4 strings

You must not like trance if you say that.

And you must be clueless if you think that.

Well, i don't know you, but to say anjunabeats is going downhill....You either don't like trance or don't pay attention to anjunabeats.

Or! Now get ready for this, because I may just blow your mind here... some people may not actually like 99% of what Anjuna Beats is releasing! That's right! Someone may have an opinion of what's good that differs from yours!

And they still might like trance too!

*slaps hand on cheek while mouth is held ajar

Imagine that.

Well, you must be one big tough guy.

I understand he might not like it, but saying "I don't like it" and "They're going downhill" is two totally different things. If he doesn't like it then say that. Not that they're going downhill...

def have a point there. Anjuna is cream of the crop.

When will people learn that others may share a different opinion??? Open your mind and realize that there are some people on this board that may not share the same opinion as you. If you don't realize this then you will not contributing to this "discussion" forum.

For an example of how a discussion works, let's practice shall we! OK, i'll start......

Your right, you don't know I A) do like trance and B) do pay attenion to their latest releases.

I do actually still like trance, I just think there are some rather weak releases coming out on Anjuna and on many labels in general. They have released some ok stuff over the last couple of years but nothing to get excited about. None of the stuff they've released lately can even compare to some of their earlier releases for '03 like:

Tranquility Base - Razorfish
P.O.S. - Remember / Amnesiac
Rusch & Murray - Epic

Maybe i'm just getting tired of Anjuna's sound but I still don't believe any of their latest releases will be talked about or even rememberd 5 years down the road.

Now if you wish, you can continue this discussion by posting your thoughts or opinions on my reply

I think you're just getting bored of their sound. What labels tracks are still talked about/played after 5 years? People don't tend to talk about 5 year old tracks, unless they're classics and a new remix comes up, like "Dreamland", "Strange World", etc. New stuff comes out all the time as we all know it, they will get played for a while, but after 5 years they will only be played in a set thats only a "throwback" mix. I believe that they are releasing stuff that people will still like 5 years down the road. May be not you, but other people will be talking about it. I do understand your point of view and I do realize that people have different opinions. I am not degrading you for not liking their releases, it's just unusual for someone to say their going downhill when they're one of the leading labels releasing some of the hottest and most sought after tracks. Hope we can continue our conversation.

Nice

Dont really like either of these tracks, Puma bored me, and Cassopeia was ok, but i felt it was actually out of tune on parts :S, some really strange chords in that. Going by the sample on Anjuna beats website though...

Posted by Cobalt on Jan-28-2006 10:15:

Puma starts rather strong, picking up especially between the 2 and 4 minute marks, but gets really... fluffy in the second half, starting with that atrociously generic breakdown. Too bad.

Cassiopeia would be better without that awful twinkle synth, but is still relatively average aside from that.

Another forgettable slice from Anjuna.
