where i am there's no shortage or huge demand for mk2's... i do doubt though that it would affect sales... i doubt most would care whether they ended up getting their hands on a mk2 or mk3 in the end...

Isnt the efx1000 different from the efx500 in terms of it doesnt have a few fetures the 500 did? Its not the same as the cdj1000mk2 because its not just the old version +more its a new peice of equipment.

Summadayze thread, page 13
Considering the number of djs that attended (and one that played), I was expecting a few more responses Admittedly most of them wouldn't have bothered with the promo tents.
But yeah, thats where I got the quote.

As a sales rep, I've worked several product fairs in which we have prototype products in our booth. There have been times when we are instructed NOT to let anyone take pics or touch the prototypes, and these are home appliances, lol.

Perhaps the promo tent was requesting/demanding no photos?

Posted by nicktra86 on Jan-08-2006 05:21:

a bloke that was there was i was took a photo of the mixer and decks, they made him delete them, they requested they check the camera and when they did they cleared all the fotos from the day apparently... he was pretty shitty...

Sounds like a conspiricy.

Sounds like changing memory cards, going home and running PC File Recovery on it.

Security are dumb as f*ck and dont realise with digital, deleting aint deleting

i said that before when Oztiesto told me that mick parks was still a member of tilt :P

Posted by T-Soma on Jan-08-2006 10:09:

So tired today... Man i gotta get to sleep earlier.

If an mk3 came out id still buy the mk2.
I dont want mp3 support i would hate having heaps of tracks on one cd.
As for the looping... doesnt the mk2 have looping but its just not auto or something. I could live with that for the sake of a few $$.

Posted by nicktra86 on Jan-08-2006 10:12:

there was a demo on at JB-HI in the city today, cues like you were in line to go see Armin or pvd in a basement with 50 people capacity, you guys should have a chat with the big pioneer dealers where your at for more info...

Posted by cbrendan on Jan-08-2006 10:42:

ok so i had the mk2's on order, got a call friday saying they where in and am picking them up from jb hifi elizabeth street tommorow.

Got a price of 3900 for 2 x 1000mk2's and a djm600. How much extra am i likely to have to pay to get the mk3's. Anything more than 200-300 more seems a waste of money for the features gained.

Any thoughts...?

Posted by AngusG on Jan-08-2006 10:54:

i'd ask the jb hi-fi guys... theres nothing really to excite me about the mk3... mp3 playback meh... and auto looping just sounds like something that'll take the skill out of djing even moreso... i'm gonna go check out my jb hifi in the city tomorrow... and see what they can do...

Posted by T-Soma on Jan-08-2006 10:56:

The price for a cdj1000mk2 at jb hi-fi was more then $2200.
Try get the best price you can wen you go. Then come and tell us what they offered you.
Everything is way marked up but people reakon you can haggle em down pretty low.
Also, the original JB was started here where i live in keilor east.

I would think that the MKIIIs would be the same price, with the MKIIs going down.

Posted by AngusG on Jan-08-2006 11:00:

they're also a sucker for cash discounts...

Posted by cbrendan on Jan-08-2006 11:01:

Yeah well the guys i spoke to at summadayze, who where demo-ing them said "same price as the mk2's"... which obviously meant rrp. But i'll try and convince some salesperson into upgrading my order to mk3's for the same price.

I don't really even want mk3's for any reason other than the fact that the mk2's will be outdated. Teh new features don't really excite me. I'll let u know how i go with prices. See how low i can take them on the mk2's as well out of interest.

Posted by AngusG on Jan-08-2006 11:10:

Thumbs up

Remember that there can be bugs in newly-released electronics. Think Denon DN-S3500 and Pioneer EFX-1000. Fair warning.

Having said that, I would definitely upgrade to the MKIIIs.
