his set recorded at the rub 99 is nasty! probably the best i've heard

There's loads of good 2002 prog house out there, Baroque for example did some amazing releases that year..

The problem is you've got to sift through dozens and dozens of sleep-inducing numbness to find it.. And if you prefer a somewhat more trancier prog sound, then you'd better go back a few more years, as has been said before.

I really love those older prog house records, far more than the stuff being released today (which I don't even bother to keep up with really, tbh.)

oh people are already feeling nostalgic about 2002 prog.

it was boring and slow. let's hope it don't come back.
bring back the 90s prog ala Andy Ling, Pappa & Gilbey, Tilt (with Graham), Mara, Tarantella & Redanka etc!

Yes. Definitely. That sound is awesome.

I was talking about the releases from 2002 that still bear that sound (at least somewhat). They do exist.

yea I know. for example that Andy Moor tune Sworn - Dark Ammendments (Attraction vocal mix) that one is of that kind. really really nice.
how could he go from such good sound to so crappy later on?

Strange, innit?

I like the Detract dub of that tune better though, that's more like the sound I was blabbering about.. Awesome track.

Hernan Cattaneo still represents this kind of progressive imo. He's one to don't play and play electrorockdeepgrungeomgwtfbbqish prog of today.

His Play FM set was pretty banging imo. That one is 4 months old, don't know what your definition of 'recent' is

Hardly any electro shite in it either.

Posted by CleverName on Jan-06-2006 19:26:

So are we ever going to make that exclusive by invitation only prog whore FTP or what?

Posted by Floorfiller on Jan-06-2006 20:26:

i'd say of sasha and digweed's music...2001-2002 is probably my least favorite. there were of course exceptions, but i prefer their more banging sound from 1998-2000...that's the goods for me, so i agree with cobalt hehe...

So far the argument his been about his sets. What about his music? Would anybody point out some good music Sasha has done similar to "Scorchio"? Please educate me with more songs like this.

To be perfectly honest, he never really made anything else like Scorchio. Maybe if you dig through Emerson's discography you'll find something, but I don't remember finding much.
