lol what was that one opener in your mix where the trance kids get shot...rolf that shit was ace, I believe it was an AVH track...

intro tracks I like using

Kuffdam & Plant - Surface (Original Mix)
Elevation - Clear Blue (Intro Mix)
Solar Stone vs. Scott Bond - 3rd Earth
Catcher - Destiny Sunrise (Original Mix)

The foillowing tracks start with a 4/4 beat, but are good to use as first tracks, as they take a while to build up

Sarah McLachlan - Fallen
DT8 Project - Winter (Max Graham)
Catcher - Destiny Sunrise (MIKE Mix)

Way back in the 90's Dave Seaman opened sets and one of his Renaisance CD's with the track:

Dance Planet - Orbit.

Someone, for the loive of god must know this tune I am on about. It's mind blowing!

IF you know it, back me up guys!

i think lonestar - uno di ci is a great opener to start a prog house set!
for me a good opener is the most important start to a set because you have to build on that one!

Which one?

I need some more clues...lol

Posted by TCB on Jan-12-2006 22:36:

i love when armin opened up one of his live sets with that track sampling the matrix "take the red pill...take the blue pill"

me personally if im playing a trance set even though im not a huge breaks fan i like to open my set with a breaks track with a huge synth line.

Love Poundin' Sensation

Sasha and the mythical Pure .... oh the hype on that one

Also Masiello took me by surprise using Halcyon & on & on for Balance 008 (hard to mix out of it tho as shows)

I'm a total sucker for good opening tracks ... I judge about all tracks I hear on being able to open with it .... I prefer the floaty stuff obviously ... no opening with just a beat!

Stefano Greppi - Living In A Video ?

Dude!

I made a mix in June with Ada - Maps (Mayer and Thomas Remix) as my opener!

Sasha's a prick...stealing my opening tracks

I thought it was awesome when PvD opened with global drum attack at UMF7. that was a really exciting way of starting the party (well, at least PvD's part of it) and it made a pretty epic, suspensful introduction. That set opened with a bang and just went right into some hard stuff. omnia, shine, other such vandykery

I like to open with Tilt-Twelve (Original Mix) because of the way it builds up and gets going with that driving bassline after a few minutes and since the song is so ambient and good to listen to as it is.

Haha, that was the example I was going to use for a perfect starter!

Great minds think alike

Armin always picks a nice track to open a set with but I have to say Sasha had a really cool tune he opened with here in Philly in the Summer of 05. It had some space/spaceship theme and it really kicked the shit out of the place!

One of my favorite intros is the first few minutes of Adam Beyer & Peter Benisch - Faces. Its really chill.

I've seen him 3 times in 2005, didn't open with it once.

I really like to begin my sets with Snake Sedrick & Khans - Circular (Intro Mix)/(Cassino & Laben Mix) lately
