ok, that sux then...if he directed it, I'd say it should have potential.

produced = shelled out money to make it and had *some* influence (maybe). shitty.

The scariest part is that it could be true for all we know. My friend was telling me about the back drop for the story. The director (I forget his name, but he did Cape Fear), had come across a website in Thailand or something where you could pay to torture people, and people in Thailand were selling their kids to this place to make money. He was going to do a documentary on it, but who would admit to something like that? Who knows if it was real or not...

I read about that in Eye Magazine I think. He wanted to do that doc. but was afraid that if he went too far he'd get killed himself, so he did Hostel instead.

Exactly...this is why people who are going to see it just b/c it's a "tarantino" film b/c they like his cinematography will not like it. He wasn't the one callin the "shots"! Oh my...that was funny...hehe

I saw this on Tuesday... i didn't think it was all that great either... not that i'm sick or anything but i felt like they really pussied out on the whole torture business... the trailers made it seem like it was so much more hardcore.. too bad they practically show all the parts IN the trailer...

i enjoyed it though..and i would suggest it to be a wait for rental..even maybe wait till pay-per-view...

worth watching though... and its pretty funny sometimes...
the Kid gang was the best part of the movie..especially at the end... crazy little bastards...

saw it on opening day and i liked it

i gotta say its liek eurotrip and saw put together. with the tits and ass in the beginning and then the blood and gore in the end.

the gore was just wow. i really couldnt even imagine this kinda stuff. the shock parts were nuts but it was very predictable.

One other thing I didn't like about it...those B-grade actors...bad news. I wasn't a big fan of the acting job. Especially that Jay Hernandez...he sucked.

people in thailand paying to see someone tortured via the internet.

I'd say Ollie was the only good actor out of all of them. And maybe that dude with the glasses in the train. The others...terrible. No Oscars here!

That's exactly what I said. It is SO SO similar to Eurotrip. VERY.

Of course, my horse. I've taken up that saying since the movie.

yea, I pretty much agree with everything you said.

I went into the movie thinking it'll be "scary" and gory... but they really did wuss out on the torture scenes... they were far too short and not graphic at all.

After seeing this movie, I think I've realized that I dont find scary movies entertaining. Every scary movie i've seen has either been boring or just plain cheesy.

I find most of his movies HIGHLY over rated and super MEH!

His 'assholish' character didn't appeal too much because he was a hella sweetheart in Crazy/beautiful hahah

but regardless of his acting job... he is insanely hot... those beautiful beautiful lips... ohhhh yesss

meaning, don't buy into the hype (for a movie) just by having Tarantino's name mentioned all over it... he MIGHT not have had as much to do with it as you might think. (after all, it's all good advertising )
