since when did u have to have a point to post in the chill out room... kinda defeats the purpose

its just ironic seeing a guy who's supposed to be the most powerful in the world... (emphasis on supposed)... almost gettin knocked off by a bit of baked pastry...

that is all

btw.. i dont care if a pretzel is not baked pastry... that wasnt my point.. not that i had one

And also what's up with that "nerve" that they said was damaged during the choking? How can that be?!

Plus, I would never associate a choking incident with that big bruise that Bush has on his cheek and lip. How did that come about..?

Bush really looks like he's in a war right now

it's actually not quite that strange that bush fainted. ever hear of people with overly tight neckties fainting? it's the same thing. and i don't think that a nerve was damaged, but that it was stimulated. you see the vagus nerve runs parallel with the carotid artery (you know those big arteries in your neck). when the vagus nerve is stimulated it increases vagal tone in the heart. this vagal tone slows conduction through the atrioventricular (AV) node. the AV node is, for all intents and purposes, the pacemaker of the heart. so when the AV node slows down, the heart rate goes down. now people who are in excellent physical condition can run around with heart rates in the 50's and be fine because of their physical status. this heart rate would not fare well for most people. the average heart rate is 60-100 bpm. but if bush was in excellent physical condition then his heart rate was probably lower than normal or on the lower end of the scale. combine this with the pretzel lodged in his throat mechanically stimulating the vagal nerve to further decrease heart rate and you've got a good fainting spell on your hands. and if he was standing up when he fainting he probably hit his face on the ground pretty hard since i've heard that everyone falls forward when they faint uncontrollably. when i was going through school we saw this video of patients that had massive seizures where they would just lose consciousness and all muscle tone and they would fall. they were all wearing helmets on their heads cuz they always fell forward and if they didn't have helmets they would probably cause a whole lot of brain damage. thus ends dr. lost's medical minute.

IMO, its funny..
it's like watching American Funniest Home Videos, except its on a larger scale.

George Bush Jr. even made a comment after the incident "mom, i'm sorry i've never listened to you, always chew your pretzels before swallowing..."

lets just follow what the man did.
treat it as a joke and get on with it...
