The Guardian Angels are a group overwhich the counsel will have no influance. Subsequently, the city does not want to see them involved as if they have a noteable impact it will be egg on the face of the city and the TPS.

I think such ego in matters of this importance is reprehensible, however, that is the reason for the current situation.

i understand the reasoning..

im not implying that this is actually a racist act nor would have been had it been reversed. Im just stating what is in fact a huge hypcrisy in our society.

The same situation when applied differently is in one case a matter of pride as it is now, and in another would be a racial thing according to the black community.

also a sad irony is that the canadian government only issued the guardian angles a 3 day visa and they have to leave.

Meanwhile 50 cent can come and go as he pleases..

A CHANGE OF GOVERNMENT CANT COME SOON ENOUGH

I say good

these people care about the community they are "patrolling" and hopefully people in that community wil welcome and accept it. I doubt they will get "shot at" etc, as they are unarmed and should just be there for a presence.

Rather than "policing", their goal seems to be more to educate, raise awareness, and get people involved in the community instead of ignoring the problems occuring in their own neighbourhoods.

You hit the nail on the head!!!

curtis sliwa, angels head honcho, was told if he wanted to meet with police he had to go through the mayors office...he tried for over two weeks to arrange meetings with the mayor and police officials and was ignored...

guardian angels safety programs are now required courses in both the new york and new jersey school systems...

Do you have a source on that TBF?

Not that I don't find that surprising (he's been denied a couple times before)...
